  • Went to Svc,
They said, wait for engineer which comes from Yamaha factory for R1 servicing and maintenance and also visit once a month.
    They will call me.
    Thats all.
Now this has become hopeless condition.
Svcs are not at all capable of repairing performance bikes when it comes to engine maintenance.
    Not At ALL

Why do you need octane boost? Is your bike's engine having a higher compression than stock engine? If so, then yes, you need octane boost. If no, then don't waste your money.

Now, coming to Octane Booster by STP; STP has been selling Octane Booster in some form or the other for donkey's years and I recall an article in the Motorcyclist magazine which did a comprehensive comparison between various makes and came to the conclusion that most octane boosters that come in plastic containers are not worth the money they charge and don't boost octane by any significant margin whatsoever. Octane Boosters that come in metal containers are generally good and have a reasonable octane boosting capacity.

        • Octane booster for these bikes is a little over rated. Personal opinion though.

          • Thanks for the clarification. I got the bike serviced and a bike tooner suggested i use STP OctBoost. The bike did respond well in the mid-range and was very happy about it. The response is back to normal after the next tank full. I guess the bike felt faster cause my wallet was lighter LOL..

Has anyone tried fiting h7 bulbs with projectors in their bike? Also i am hunting 4300 k projectors but not lucky to find it.

Any other alternative for the same ?

Try to contact Navnish nagesh aka. Tourer gear. I have fitted an hid setup from him 4300k & its working like a charm since 2 years even on stock battery.

^^ I think he already tried that and had visibility issues, I also have the kit (bixenon) from Navnish for the past 2 years and no issues, however just be careful you don't fit the bulb into the H4 adapter upside down, I had done that by accident recently and had an accident in the process, courtesy of cement bags in the middle of a dimly lit road!

Does anyone know if there are any projectors available to fit the bixenons from Navnesh? ideally without those coloured ring thingies?

Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Then Philips diamond vision or extreme vision can help you. They claim an 5000k output.
And for you stefanm there are projectors without those 'Angel Eyes'. Widely available in local market too.

Definitely a sensor issue in your fuel problem. Ask the SVC to check the sensor.

Did you checked your fuel pump sensor ? Go for a FI cleanup and ask them to check the sensors completely. You can claim free replacement if the bike is in warranty.

Stefanm - i had Navneesh hid in 2011 but the output was bad after a particular kilometers and it was same stage as stock bulbs, Though i had the 35 Watt H4 bulbs 4300 k as the factory recommendatins but then i cam to know since R15 reflectors are weak enough to support the HID lights so a projector would help.

In case of goa i agree people are decent to use low beam but in case of pune apart from high beam every 8 drivers/rider are on full beam with fog lights and that blinds up a lot.
In fact i missed the chance of meeting you when i was at old goa to see the V2 setup

Well I have virtually given up night riding, it's really not pleasant, cars with MH12 & MH14, only drive with brights, along with 90% of KA's, when you're down next give me a shout, i'm mostly in Panaji, I'm quite happy with the set up from Navnish, output is similar to my swift's 100/90's, the trouble is these mother fokkers turn up the drivers side beam, so without brights they are still being total ignorant ar*e holes, I have given up slapping these guys now!

Got the bike her much needed service-both brake fluids, coolant&fork oils replaced/topped up.
Coneset greased and the bike feels upright again!
                              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

                              • R15 Rough engine sound and vibrations.

                                Hi Everyone,
I am owning a Yamaha YZF R15 Version 1.0. I had driven 10733 KMS. Until my first service the bike was really smooth and had free throttle. After my first service, the smoothness of the bike has lost. When i asked service guy, he told it will be fine later. Also my bike gets heated up easily if i drive 2-3 KM initially. Now, the heating problem is fine, after i went for changing coolant. There are three problems now.

                                1. My bike has little bit tapped sound, when i push the start button and rev up.
                                2. I am getting a loose engine sound, like vibration+loundess. I exactly dont know how to tell that. Noticable vibrations are there. Engine sound is loud when i rev up when compared to other R15s.... Its not a smooth sound, its loud. Much worried about it.
                                3. Yamalube - Is that a synthetic oil from Yamaha ?? If not, kindly let me know the synthetic oil from Shell or Castrol, whichever is fine.

I am facing these issues and i really dont know whether some owners of R15 version 1.0 facing this same issue or it held fine after some time. Correct me, if i am wrong.
Kindly help me out to fix this issue.

                                Thanks in advance.
