  • Hello folks, I am planning to install HID in my Dazzler.. My first question, Dazzler has all AC lights, will I be able to connect HID to Dazzler without loosing warranty on the bike ??
Secondly, Dazzler has 4Ah maintainence free battery ? Will it take the load? The bike doesn't have a kick start, so its very important for me that the battery stays up all time....
Is it better to install Nightbreaker or Philips 60/55 W bulbs instead of HID's as they should be a straight fit (I assume)... Please help..
Also please tell me which brand HID is better ?

If your ride is a ZMR as in your profile pic, any of these bulbs is a direct fit. Now, I guess you already know that, and you are confused about the color?? Well, anything around 4300K color temperature is good. Check out their specs, and enjoy better lighting...

Bro, if you have browsed through this thread you can see that HID needs DC to operate. If you want to get the best out of HID, you'll need to convert the bike to full DC. It IS possible to still install and use HID without conversion, but believe me, its a pain. If Dazzler uses stock 55/60W bulb, you can just switch to NB or Philips bulbs. IF its 35/35W, I guess there is a way to use a 55/60W bulb, but I dont know much about that...

i am confused abt which bulb to be used in terms of reliability, life span and light quality between OSRAM nd Philips. which one to b use? and ZMR headlight is 35/35 Watt.
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Dazzler lighting is 35/35W AC, so upgrading it to 55 W by coil rewinding or so will be last thing on the warranty. Its better to wait for till the warranty expires, simply plonking a 55W wont help either as it will not glow fully and in effect its useless.

I've heard some guys are running HID from a puny 4AH batt by direct tapping but dont know about the back up they are getting. Its feasible till the batt is having enough juice

Thanks for the reply... Dazzler uses 35/35 W and even I think that using a Philips or NB should not be a direct fit, hence wanted to know the procedure for the same.
Also, I just got the info from another xbhp fellow mate to convert all AC to DC and I am thinking to get it done so that I can install HID..
Also I assume there would be various brands of HID's available in the market ? Which one to buy is a concern.. How much should it normally cost ?

yeah it is possible but its a lot of work just for AE..you have to heat and open up the dome.

What? AFAIK Karizma uses a 55/60W head light, and so should ZMR! Please double check....

Converting to full DC involves rewinding the stator coil, replacing the stock RR with APE RR etc... which will void the warranty as sajjt has posted above. If you are game, and willing to take the risk, then you can get a bixenon HID (which gives both high and low beam). There are guys here in xbhp, like navnish from b'lore, who supply HIDs at very reasonable price and support... Take a look through the different HID related threads...

No Buddy, that is the reason we are looking for HELP

Which one better OSRAM or PHILIPS?
Is it recommended to change from 35W to 55W/60W?

Even in daylight the Parking Lights are kept on and use extensive Pass Light.
ZMR does not have a kick start with PGMFi. Any risk?
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

ok... but it is full DC anyway right? So the bulbs should work fine. Extensive use at low rpms can cause the battery to drain faster than it get charged.... Experts here can help you with that...
And sorry, I cannot comment on if Osram or Philips is better, I directly went on to HID

                        LOL
                        Yep, ZMR is full DC.
In low RPMs in City Traffic there is no flip side of HID even with use of Pass Light.
Then I will wait and convert to HID.

No. HIDs has no risk in that as you can use a 35W bulb,

without HID, If you want to use a 55W bulb, Osram is said to be better. Use the electricals carefully in low RPMs and traffic so you wont face battery issues, else get a Bosch relay switch for 250 bucks and add that, then there wont be any issues at all.

Almost all the reviews I have read to date between Philips X-Treme Power vs. OSRAM Night Breaker Philips X-Treme Power has been a clear winner.
