      hi Denzil,
One thing you could do is first slide the seat so that it gets locked from the tank side and then just hit behind the separator between the rider and the pillion seat.(i.e on the pillion seat)
I do it often, and gets done in a single try,
      But hit hard.

          • Hi Friends...

Recently i had been to lonavala.... on the way it started raining heavily.....

so i parked the bike nearby and went to a tapri under the shade ...the bike was not visible to me......

after around 30 min i went there...the bike had fallen sideways on the left side due to sand sliding underneath..it was a soft land....

but the point is tht the bike was not starting ...... the battery got drained out....i tried to start it by pulling it and second gear and leaving the clutch but still it was not starting....

i had to drag it for about a kilometer in the same fashion and with choke ON....the bike did start then.... i stopped the engine again and tried to start it with self start but still i vain....

finally after around 20 odd kilometers was i able to start the bike back with self starter....

I am not getting what was the problem???? please help me

Guys..hi everyone...got an issue with my FZ.....
2nd service done at 3000km....and now 4000 on ODO....
It misfires....mostly after driving for sometime...
also pick up is better and no less vibes when engine is cold....i.e after starting n warming up the engine for about 20-30 secs....after the engine gets hot its all gone.....

pick up, top speed is screwed and it vibrates like hell just like our beloved
splendors and platinas(no offence to the brand)....

also it chokes in 2nd gear when speed comes down to 10kmph.....
when i tell this to the SVC guys they say it is perfectly normal.....

WTF????? How can this be normal when i read about you guys how smooth
is the FZ engine and has the best pick up and torque in class.....
Should i take up this issue with the Yamaha regional manager or is this normal in ur FZ's too....reply all please
                cheers...
Hi Novice... I am facing Exactly the same issue as you have mentioned... only difference is that I have done 6200 Km on ODO.. and no " chocking" while on 2nd gear... All the other problems you mentioned is there for me as well...

When I tell the Svc guys , they tell all the problems are fixed saaarr... but while taking it for a ride its still there.. dunno what to do...

when you go in for the first service they will change engine oil(its not free though) and i think its one of their mandatory checks..

Abt the run-in period afaik(going by the previous posts in this thread) it is highly recommended that you wait for 1000kms..since you have already completed 500kms on the first week, get the bike serviced at 1000kms(it wont be long mate going by your standards ) and you are free to go.. but i vaguely remember the manual suggesting you stay within 6k rpm for the next 500kms or so,not sure though...

Thanks man...so i dont go in for oil change till the service and keep it below 60kmph till 1500kms....ok got it....

                      • What would be the cost for applying teflon coating for my yamaha fz 16 bike ? Will it be free from minor scratches ( from dress, bag etc..). Are there any other polish or coating available which would give it a showroom like appearance. What would be exact cost.

Another thing, I have completed the first service at 570km. The mileage before service was 52kmpl ( riding speed at 45-50kmphr). The lowest was 44kmpl. Expect it to improve after first
                        Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Why in this whole world you have most solidish look on Fz?
Just because it shouldnt vibrate even a bit when krates ride it on 110kmph sitting on the handlbars!!
                            Just joking mate..
