    It is normal ....
So is it alright to start riding while the sensor is still heating up?

    • You can't do a seizure when the sensor is heating up. But ideally, just warm up until the RPM level falls to 1500 +/- 1000 RPM & then start riding. Its a good practice.

You are good to go after the first engine temp bar appears. You need not wait for all the 3 bars to show up. Don't ride in high RPMs before all 3 bars appear.

The most important thing for any engine on start up is to have it's internals lubricated well with engine oil...It takes approximately 30 seconds for a engine to develop enough pressure through it's oil pump, and send oil into all essential areas. This is the critical period when engine should not be increased in RPM or subjected to load by engaging gear and driving...So after starting let the engine idle for a minimum period of 30 seconds before driving...waiting upto one minute will be better.

Yep.. I've heard about that and follow it on my bike too.. Helps in the long run..

Useful but only in the kitchen as the comments suggest.

Teflon doesn't break down at normal day to day temperatures is what I figure from the article.

But all the same, the very bike you ride emits carcinogens man! No offence; I'm just saying that there are toxic substances all around us, part of daily life and if everything is in normal ratios you'll live happily till 80 or 90 or maybe even 100!

Tks DK & pls do not forget to notice the mirror, footpeg, handle bar vibes in the lower speeds after you've clocked the top speed in addition to noticing the RPM limit.

I could understand how happy you are . I managed to touch 150Kmph. You overtook me by 1kmph. I pulled 150 mark twice, one at night and other on a day. At night it is easier to do than in a day. I started working out so soon i'll be lighter to surpass you .

                              • Araey DK, not that point.
Just wanted to check if the vibes are increasing with everytime you hit the top speed that's all. Because mine did. After 150 Kms (not kmph), the mirrors had vibes. Once I touched 123 Kmph, the foot pegs had vibes after 110 Kmph. This is what I wanted to verify. This is a characteristic with most commuter segments.
