its a pressure based sensor in CBR at right side of the tank. if you have about 4 litre of fuel it will still show 1 bar. it starts blinking when you are left with 2.5-3 litre of fuel.

it shows all 6 bars when the tank is full to the brim that is about 13 litre of fuel.

My CBR's odo reading is 22500 n I'm feeling that stock Contigo tyres r aged. The front wheel is acting unbalanced when bike goes to uneven surface. Checked air pressure n even puncture but everything is normal.
Asked to ASC mechanic but his replies r same that u don't need to change the wheel. But one of my frnd owns a tyre shop suggested me to change the tyre. He asked to change after 1 n half months. N he told me to go for MRF Zapper series than Michelin Street Radial b'coz Zapper series has longer life than Michelin. This made me confused as I was going to chose Michelin Pilot Street.
As per my knowledge Zapper series is also good but I don't want to be in confused state.
Also need a suggestion that can I change my front wheel now n rear wheel after sometime ?

22k on conti's..... dude you are one brave human...... those things should not be on any motorcycle.
        CHANGE TYRES ASAP......

        you have below options.

Michelin Pilot street ( front + back ) about 10k -- best bet
Michelin pilot sport ( front + back) about 6-7k . hard compound and dont buy
MRF - Massater ( front FC1 and rear massater ) - 6k ish. good combo

Just to add to what Aman has added on. I'd recommend the Zapper Series. The newer lots of some CBR these days come with MRF Zapper S and FS on the front, pretty decent combo and offers good grip when the tire reaches adequate temperature. Wet grip is satisfactory and the tire is semi-hard compound, and it works beautifully for the price paid.

          Cheers!

MRF should last you good 20k while Michelin last bit more about 25k .. however that's much more dependent on your way of riding.
if you have the budget then Michelin is a no brainer.

Thx bro. I do mostly touring n I don't ride hard. Cornering is not my stuff. Although good grip is essential.
I've no idea abt Contigo's age otherwise I would have changed it before.

if thats the case MRF will do just fine... massater for rear and mrf fc1 for front. though its not radial but feedback from riders around is very pleasant for masseter

This is exactly what I am going through. Looks like no service centres in entire TN or atleast, the ones in Chennai don't have stock of these parts. Didar Egmore seems to have a backlog for 20 parts or so.

I have been checking with friends away from Chennai & in Bangalore to scout for this part. If anyone can help with the part - please do let me know. My bike was in the SC for 3 weeks for the want of this part.

I was told that this is not a major problem and I see the oil spill only when pushing hard for long distances - never had this happen in short city rides (15 kms).

Not the oil seal, which is available. This is "mechanical" oil seal which has tough waiting periods.

Even on this thread, no such issues have been reported earlier as far as I remember...
Strange! Am told this is a normal issue (not rare) with CBR 250 and happens once the bike has done 20-25K kms or so.

Even I felt the same - so I settled for a well maintained CBR 250 @ 80K (2013, 28K kms done). The bike feels very good and I consider this to be an extremely good deal.

This was my observation too. However, I mostly see just 5 bars after a fill - I stop as soon as I see petrol gushing out of a hole into which the dispenser is usually kept. How much more can be filled? The usual I have filled is around 7-8 liters with the last bar blinking.

if you refill right after blinking it takes about 9.5-10 litre of fuel to the brim. my usual tops ups are flat 10 Litre. riding about 10-12 km once the bar blinks.

PM me the part details. will check for the parts needed.

                            Hi Guys,

I have been going through lot of threads on the CBR and but did not see any single thread which lists parts from other bikes that can be used for the Bike. For e.g - we can use Yamaha Oil filter as a direct fit. Can we create one such list that will be a comprehensive parts from other bikes that can be used on our bike. I am creating this list kindly just add on to the list below so that it becomes one comprehensive list.

                            1) Yamaha Oil filter
                            2) Pulsar 220 Steel braided line for the front disc

Kindly add anything that you know.

Add the pulsar 220 rear brake pads. Btw, I thought you sold the CBR since you bought the versys. How has the rides been on the versys? Would you still pick it over the CBR 650F?

That pulsar steel braided line will only work for non abs model. Cbr 150r front pads are a direct fit as well.
