        • I usually upshift gears @4500-6000 RPM but today i noticed some knocking sound was there when i tried pulling . But the noise was never heard before. Is it related to chain play or something like that. My bike now behaves like diesel engine as like some lag initially with knocking sound and then after sometime it pulls clean. Any reason?

The price quoted is all fine. The brake Pads of ABS model is costlier than std one. Check the coolant and change/Refill the same.

Just replaced my front pads hardly a month back for ~ 800, labor cost could be extra, but not even near to what it was quoted to you.

                    • So I've clocked 730 on my new CBR so far. Just a couple of observations:

                      1. If I suddenly blip the throttle, when wanting to downshift, the engine shuts down (after a soft backfire)! This doesn't happen frequently and I think it only happens if I blip it SUDDENLY (with the clutch fully pressed in). I might try to reproduce it once my first service is done, but was wondering if anyone else faced this issue?

                      2. Haven't taken it beyond 6K rpm so far, but face massive vibs between 5-6K. Any generic mods that people are getting done here to reduce those (like rubber between headlight and fairing etc.) or is it live it, love it?

thanks for replying friends, kishore is yours an ABS one ?
servicing done today, they cleaned the radiator with direct high pressure water and fins were found bent, had a huge fight and finally they put a new one,
                        main points-
                        engine oil- 703/-
                        oil filter- 273/-
                        air filter- 296/-
                        coolant- 241/-
                        chain cleaned and lubed- 144/-
coolant top up-here i would like to mention one thing that better purchase a new 1 ltr bottle of coolant instead of going for top up, cos they charge some 114/140 /- for the same while top up requires very less amount than what we are charged for,

want to ask if any body checked valve clearance at this stage or earlier ?
                        please in details......

what are things related to these shims and all ?

i asked them to check the valve clearance, they said its fine, no need to go for it right now
but i am experiencing some vibration at around 5-6k rpm, after that its not that fine as it used to be.....what to do ?

No, mine is the Standard one. Some ABS owners can confirm you the exact price of brake pads or you can search this thread for more details.

                            • With the old block i made a terrible mistake of limiting to 6k rpm and it somewhat caused the bike to be all sluggish for the next 1000kms everytime i try crossing the 6k barrier. After recieving my replaced block, i have been riding her like i normally do and she seems to be responding quite well through the revv range already. Awaiting the first service(3rd actually) next month and its looking good so far!

IIRC Honda upped the price on the spares last month!
