As you know, good mechanics won't be mechanics here for long time as they would be promoted to jobs they can't handle . During their so called "PDI", I am even OK if they don't ride to check if the machine works in all gears! (even if doesn't work, customer has to repair it under warranty anyway as once registration is done nothing can be done). As usual before any purchase, the life is throwing its tantrums and testing moi. Believe me, when I bought Suzuki Fiero ES in 2001 Feb, I felt pleasant buying experience as it was a top model from them. Now it is 2013 Feb and boy!, we are on a such a downward spiral!.
By the way hold your horses before forming a final opinion as I will update you guys after I get the machine tomorrow with delivery experience and initial impressions.
Dude it's a 2L worth product.why dont you wait?? In your situation, I would have said no to that bike and would have asked for a different one.. And the way they hesitate to put the battery and show to you, it's bit suspicious...

Anyway it's your decision... Good luck

    • Hi all, Is there any way to make front suspension stiffer. Anybody tried? ,if that is working as expected then please share your experience. I got frustrated about this bike handling but everything else are making me big smile . I have googled and got info about RACETECH suspension but it is way too expensive(what you guys say?). I have enjoyed the cornering ability of my previous bike (FZ16), so just want to get the same from Our CBR250. Anybody done mods(especially on handling part) from RaceConcepts here.
It will be good if you people share your's best cornering snap on your CBR250 .

IIRC Joel provides some solution for this, he tweaks the Front suspension of the CBR 250, i think i read it in his CBR thread.

          Please do seach for it.

Shims are an issue of the past. Does your friend have a CBR? Don't listen to people just like that!

Its a tad pricey at 2600 bucks. Get one made at a skilled workshop. You'll save almost 40%. But paddocks are used for bikes without a center stand. Why do you need it?
                Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

250R or Duke is better; I think.

                  • I need for the cleaning and lubing of the chain as CBR does not comes with center stand and I don't like to go to ASC every time just for the chain lubing, so it'd be handy and I can do it at my home only.

Shim is not an issue. Shim is a simple, replaceable engine component. The only issue was unavailability of spares - which has been sorted out as of now.

I thought of buying one for maintenance needs, but later dropped the idea. Would rather get a jugaad center-stand welded-on by my local mechanic. Carrying a paddock around everywhere is not feasible but a welded center-stand can enable you to mount the bike just about anywhere for wheel/chain maintenance.

Do you get PSDs at Mangalore? If not, go for MRF Zapper Q. Available in 140/70-17".

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Zapper Q of that size is a tube type tyre.

I ordered a stock Contigo rear tyre last month at a tyre dealership near Bondel/Kavoor. But they took more than a week to order it so i got it fitted from the ASC (stupid decision because it costed me a grand more with all the taxes and service charges). But after i got the tyre fitted i got a call from that dealer saying he has the rear tyre now in stock. Told him i already bought one so he might be still having it with him if you want a stock Conti rear.

As for others, there isnt much choice in the city. You'd have to get one from Blore and that is a no brainer. The new Conti rear actually grips better than the stock for me. Sometimes i doubt if the tyre was brand new or used because i didnt even have to run-in to get that grip.
