I doubt that PSD and MRF will be available.Originally posted by MidnightEvil Parth View PostPSDs or MRF REVZs
Today only i switched rear tyre to Dunlop. heard some good review of Dunlop ... cost was 3000/- (fittings included) .Originally posted by Nithesh View PostI ordered a stock Contigo rear tyre last month at a tyre dealership near Bondel/Kavoor. But they took more than a week to order it so i got it fitted from the ASC (stupid decision because it costed me a grand more with all the taxes and service charges). But after i got the tyre fitted i got a call from that dealer saying he has the rear tyre now in stock. Told him i already bought one so he might be still having it with him if you want a stock Conti rear.
As for others, there isnt much choice in the city. You'd have to get one from Blore and that is a no brainer. The new Conti rear actually grips better than the stock for me. Sometimes i doubt if the tyre was brand new or used because i didnt even have to run-in to get that grip.I respect the threat.

I want to know if this is recommended or if anyone has tried this.
Replace the front tyres of CBR with rear tyre options providing better grip off-road in the same size. The size is 110/70-R17 and i am assuming that there will be some options available atleast in this size.

Hi all who are in for replacing tyres ill suggest go for IRC Road Winners(default for thai assembly CBR).. got positive feedback from every one who used them.. for rear replacement or both they are good..price in kolkata:
Front 110/70 - 2500 INR
Rear 140/70 - 3700 INRHISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

Using a rear tyre as a front tyre is generally not recommended, as front tyres will have a different tread pattern compared to rear ones. Ofcourse, knobby tyres (like the ones used in MX) have no pattern and can be used interchangeably, but wait, do you go dune-bashing on a CBR?Originally posted by Mik View PostI want to know if this is recommended or if anyone has tried this.

The tread pattern looks better than the Contis. Reviews seem quite positive worldwide. Any idea where they are available in 'Luru? Haven't seen any IRCs around JC Road.Originally posted by BAMBI143 View PostHi all who are in for replacing tyres ill suggest go for IRC Road Winners(default for thai assembly CBR).. got positive feedback from every one who used them.. for rear replacement or both they are good..price in kolkata:Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. Nope. Last time had a torrid time in Ladakh with the Contigos. This time wifey will be pillion so slipping and sliding is out of the question. Need the knobbies ! Or the next best option. Hello, I was wondering where It would be possible In Bangalore to weld a center stand? Knowing a ill job can wreck the cbr completely, any suggestions? also I wish to know that in case I want to buy a second hand cbr abs, what would I need to look out for? (tricolor late 2012 model)

Mate, have you considered paddock stand ? Much better solution than double stand , but use in public area/parking won't be possible. But fro servicing and for personal parking spaces, it's perfect.Originally posted by Manan View PostHello, I was wondering where It would be possible In Bangalore to weld a center stand? Buying any second hand bike is a bit of a gamble, if you know for sure the servie record and accidental history of the bike, and gettign it from a known person then it's a great boon, else, you will have to do so research, get it checked by a mechanic, look for damages, engine condition and ofcourse bargain to a reasonable proce.
Cheers

Hi ,
Hope you understood my silence
. A new black colored CBR250R C-ABS has entered my life. My creative side is working well and peaking, though due to lack of time
I shall take some more days before I write a detailed post.
To sum it up:
Thanks to you all for answering. Very nice!.
I would like to clarify some myths by some people had on this (not in this forum though)
My opinion:
1. This is a very eager machine and low end torque is pretty good.
2. No need to shift too much in traffic (2nd gear is good enough in cities like Blr
. For my weight, it can start rolling even in 2nd gear!.
3. No engine heat issue (some heat is there, but that should be there anyway - even in my Fiero - I had experienced it on my ankle while it was new)
4. Nice "boom" happens as you hit 60kmph+ on 3rd or 4th gear - nice feedback from machine.
5. Urges you to rev up
, not for sedate people.
6. It is neither a rat nor a cockroach, it can't get into rat races (corporate too!) and tiny slots. It is a tiger, needs space and others will have to respect it (there may
be honks from others, urging tiger to push into a slot in traffic, but tiger won't take it as it has wide ears which are deaf - mirrors
7. It is official - You can wear your office odd jacket and ride it, still you are not out of place
8. This riding posture, I believe only looks uncomfortable to others and comfortable to riders!.
I am beginning to feel that this sporty position is good for me!. No back pain or leg pain or wrist pain, I am gelling well.
By the way, I shift at 4K rpm itself - have to practice it to shift at about 4.5K I guess.
Cons:
Bit uncomfortable on wrists while braking/engine braking to negotiate humps while riding downhill.
For a right handed person -difficult to take slow right side bit sharp U turns (have to get used to it).
Neutral idling - I think some resonance is present at 2K, handle vibrates while idling. It is ok after your shift and ride.
No side stand indicator(what a place to put side stand
)
It is for racer? (has R in it), more importance to RPM rather than other params on cockpit.
Scratch and attention magnet. Have to adjust my mirrors and some switches always.
If you wearing nice boots - they will get badly scratched because of gear shift. Planning to order shoe guards.
ProCon
Man!, on cement tiles in my portico, the front sticks to ground and I find it very hard to move (good exercise)
This bike shouldn't be moved or tilted unless started
Exercise !.
This needs space to park and take out, with no center stand, not suitable for cramped parking slots for two wheeler (again tiger issue).
Question:
I bought a new DSG Nero jacket and it is heavy.
I am getting left side neck and left shoulder getting uncomfortable and mild pain after a
hour in traffic. It goes away after I stop. Did anybody face it?. I am not sure if it is because of helmet heaviness or jacket or gloves or lunch bag?
Is the clutch has anything to do with that?.
Tomorrow, I am going to use a smaller helmet and see.
Thanks.
Yours trulyLast edited by kpvision; 02-26-2013, 09:56 AM.~shifting at 6K RPM
