    Guys,
Need a help on transportation of my baby cbr from Hyderabad to bangalore.
Could anyone of you suggest me in, what sort of transportation can I opt for?

One more question adding to the above. How good/safe is to get the vehicle transported? My worry is because of the single stand.

Have anyone of you done this way?

I knew something wasn't right.

Also, the left side..between the tank and panel (when viewed from riders seat.. near clip on) a white IC type thingy was visible . Not sure I ve seen it so exposed before...probably some controller for the radiator. May be a covered rubber has gone missing? It doesn't look like it can get wet in rain..very delicate looking.

The bike starts without any fuss...haven't ridden it though.I recently got my bike fork fixed...as the oil seal gave way and flowed into the front brake caliper.....

I m not sure if I can blame the Honda service centre folks for this. Or, was it some type of a theft attempt. Anyone noticed similar in your bike? I park my bike in my house...with no pesky handy around. However, some steel spares have gone missing before nearby my parking..

That rubber flap can be the piece that they use to keep as a damper under the tank. Was the tank removed or re-positioned for anything recently ?
And about the IC thingy, i am not able to picture it properly. Din find any such thing on my bike.

Riding it down is the best option.

Courier and train are options but then the risk of damage to bike during transportation is a bitter truth that you might have to fall prey to.

Some of those long distance multi axle buses transport bikes in their luggage compartment, heard they are pretty safe. But not sure how much they would charge. Since now the interstate check-post checking is more strict as they had unmasked a great deal of such transportation without paying proper taxes.

Met with a small accident on my bike this Sunday morning. Low sided my bike on the Kathipara bridge. For some reason, for a moment I took my eyes of the road and was pondering on some thing, then I leaned in to the curve, all of a sudden I lost my front and was a passenger after that. The moment the bike crashed on the road, it got switched off. It is a safety feature, I think most fuel injected bikes have. I let go the bike, it started sliding towards the barrier but stopped just inches before it.

Luckily, it was early morning and the traffic was sparse, more than that there were no vehicles behind me at that time.

I was wearing(I always do) my jacket and it saved me from bruises. The one thing I learned from this crash is the importance of knee protector, sadly wasn't wearing one. Both my knee got bruises the size of a two rupee coin.

This where I lost the front end of the bike.

The bike came to a halt here.

My bruised bike, got scratches on the fairing, clutch lever, pillion rider foot rest. The gear lever got bend, got it repaired by a road side mechanic for 30 bucks .

          Hero of the day.

After taking rest the whole after noon, went straight to Spartan pro gear and got this, Knee armour(~2500Rs). I also got a gloves(2100 Rs) since my "alpine star" gloves that I got from Planet DSG had gone bad. I seriously doubt the gloves I got from them is original.

I have quite a bad experience with this pair of gloves. The gloves got torn within 6 months/ 8000Km use. I found the leather used, to be so thin that its getting torn easily. More embarrassing is that my left hand thumb is having a hole.

thank you krish for the advice. Considering the most important point of parents bugging, i had to take this decision of transportation. Pretty difficult though. I shall see how best i can manage.
btw, it has been more than one month since i had taken the bike (close 45 days) and i've done only 581 kms so far. Is it OK to proceed for the first service or wait further more till 1000km run-in? will there be any remarks imposed if the servicing is not done on time?

Good that you escaped from bruises. Get well soon. does your bike have the frame sliders? couldn't notice this on the picture.

              • Used CBR!!!

Friends, my friend is selling his 1.10 years CBR for 1.05 lacs. He is getting a D390 for himself. I rode the bike- The gear shifts with a loud thud. The racer cone set seems to b too tight(may b need replacement). Do you think, this is a gud bargain? Wot more things do I need to look into? I intend to keep the bike for at least 1 more yr, before upgrading to bigger bike.
                Thanks.

                And the ODO reads 165XX

Haven't checked FE after. but the bike is visibly performing much smoother than before. Picking up speed better without much hassle. Need to ride more and will add to it. Right now i am having a damaged rear tyre, the right side area has started showing the inner threads. So till i get it replaced under warranty won't be riding much.

Hope you are feeling good without any injuries. Bike damage can be repaired na. No worries.
Btw, regarding authenticity of Alpinestars, I had sent a mail to a* official site and got a reply that their original reseller in India is DSG. So i guess the stuff you got must be original, now unless DSG have started to sell fakes.

BTW, the jacket seems to have taken a hit. Replacing it soon ?

Good to know you are fine... And dont try your cornering skills in katipara.. Its not a corner where you can lean and have proper throttle control. Its a circle where its difficult to brake at right place and have proper throttle control and added to that lot of sand at the outer edge. Though i have tried many times on my R15 will stop doing it from now on.

Feeling good Krishna, thanks. Yup, that's the reason for buying the Knee guard and gloves before getting the bike serviced. Thanks for the conformation regarding Planetdsg.

I am planning to change my jacket soon, mostly I will get it from Spartan.

No Siddharth, I wasn't trying to test my cornering skills in fact, I was going quite slow say 45-50Kmph. I think I started to lean when the front wheel was going over the concrete patch(please refer the photo I uploaded) or I leaned more for that particular speed, a novice mistake.

Since you have done bit of cornering there, what speeds will you do while taking those corners.

                        Hi all,

Just completed a Chennai overnighter. I started at 2100H on Friday via Hoskote-Chittor reaching Chennai at 0230H on Saturday, returned from Chennai at 0330H on Sunday via Hosur, reaching Bangalore 0900H. Add some 70-odd kms in/around Chennai - and that makes it my longest touring experience. Unfortunately, I could click only a couple of pics from my phone, as I was travelling on business and wasn't carrying a camera along.

Will be doing a detailed motolog in the tourer section soon.

                        Cheers

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

I usually do it around 70-75kmph. But mind it!! it needs no traffic, since you need to start from the outer edge. And obvi you know you cant start the turn at outer edge when there is traffic. Its bit slow because you cant do a perfect corner there( atleast me ). I guess you know that from the experience.Though some maniacs without a single gear overtake me at that speed with puny tyred scooters to show off their skills to my baby R

                            Yo lucky folks,
Came back yesterday after 3 days of riding. Rode to Puttur (D.K), around it and back. Looks like CBR likes low altitudes where all horses are available.
Sakaleshpura to Nelyadi road? there is no road. Climbing down western ghats on non existent road, with CBR showing its dramatic cushioning was bit of a pain.
Climbing up was bit OK. When there is less road! they should reverse the banner "please give priority for vehicles climbing up", as pattern was for a good road condition.
When climbing down, drivers/riders can't see the depth of a pot hole too!.
Anyway, CBR munched miles and ate Blr to Sakaleshpura for breakfast and Sakaleshpura to Nelyadi for lunch. Total FE was about 37kmpl.
One sad part - I wore external knee pads - though I pasted insulation tape to silver side fairing for the trip, the knee guard managed to rip paint of. Now my CBR has
                            nudge marks on both sides.

They directed me to the ContiGo dealer who wanted nothing to do with it. So i mailed Contigo, their rep spoke to my ASC and the tyre was replaced. Had to pay a dd for 800 bucks including transportation charges since the tyre had run around 5 over 5k kms. The replaced Conti has no issues. Dry weather grip is as good as ever!
