  • Re: Honda CBR 250R

So went today to dealership to get the paper work done ( Finance stuff )

During that time i enquired with the sales manager, he told me that Only One Repsol was delivered in this month and we did not Receive any Sticker with it..
He also said, during time of handing over owners manual he buyer might get it..

Am purely getting this bike just for its paint scheme and decal works. If that does not happen as expected, then will spam Honda inbox asking for it :P

    Update:

Honda CustomerCare are aware of this and they say that the dealership should provide the stickers along with the bike..
They asked to put a complain on it, i refused to do so as my bike deliver date is just around the corner..

          hey guys
i recently bought a second hand cbr repsol 2013 model, and i got it serviced it asap i bought it and after running it for 1k km i am not satisfied with it's performance. It is overheating in the traffic when i am riding with a pillion and at times even shuts down in the traffic and then won't start instantly, i have to drag it a bit to start it and i can even feel some vibrations when the fan starts. The temperature bar always shows 3 bars. Half of the radiator fins are bent so it might be because of that as well but i am not sure. i am from delhi and have got it serviced only once but the service center technicians were very poor and hardly had any knowledge of the bike. is there any good mechanic in delhi where i can get it serviced? and is anyone also facing the same problems?
Apart from that when i drive on open roads it seems to be performing fine without any problem.

          thanks in advance.

I must say you bought a perfect colored helmet matching your ride. Looking nice.

Check the coolant level, make sure its between above and minimum lvl.

Did they replace the engine oil during service?

Try to remove side fairing and see if the Radiator fans are mounted flush to the radiator or if its lose..

As for vibration issue, it can be cos of chain ( end of its life ) or aged engine oil..

If you have any good local mechanic ask him to tighten up Engine bed bolt ( which means engine mount bolt to frame bolts )

As its nearly a 3 year old bike, i suggest you to flush the coolant and change it to a new one..

CBR250R does heats up but its not at all any problem if the temprature bar doesnot exceeds more than 3. Being on 3 bars is the nature of CBR250R. My bikes 60% fins are flat but it never exceeded 3 bars since 2011. For vibrations there might be some loose/broke pannels or broken rivits, try to figure out them. Plastic pannels of CBR250R are not that strong(compared to R15) and could break easily. Even CBR250R is not that much refined as compared to its 150cc cousin. For better engine smoothness, switch to Shell full synthetic engine oil and get the throttle body cleaned and even check the condition of the air filter. Carbon deposit on throttle body causes stalling. Even poor lubed/ bad chain-sprocket and drum rubber causes vibrations. Even fellow riders including me have done secondary earthing modification in respective bikes and what i felt is better over stock overall nature.
Even if the handle bar grips and cables feels hard, replace them. New and soft grips does filters the vibrations comming to your hand, this thing worked for me and gave my mind peace.

Unfortunately, qualified personnel for the CBR 250R is still rare. Either we have them sitting in home eating peanuts or we have folks who know little to nothing doing the job at the SVC end. Check your air filter, and replace if necessary. Blocked air filter has a long history of stalling the machine. Secondly, if your radiator's fins, more than 50% bent, it's advisable to replace the radiator.

Replace your air filter, check your plugs and as fellow Bhpian mentioned, replace your coolant and bleed properly, should solve your overheating and stall problem.

                    Cheers!

OK guys I have a kind of a stupid doubt, per say we get the new 2017 CBR250r is it possible to get 29 PS and same body components onto our bike? I'm guessing its the same engine, many of the parts have to be ditto unlike the 300, please correct me if I am wrong. Also anyone with mrf masseters on here? Like to hear your initial views, I'm due a tyre change in the next 1500-2000 kms, front and back, I'm considering the masseters as a budget option, my first choice is Michelin pilot street radials.

There will be some internal changes to achieve that extra 3bhp bump.. but in real life those 3bhp wont make much of a difference..

If there is some increase in torque 3~4nm, then its worth the upgrade that you are looking for..

You can easily get 3~5bhp gain by using NGK iridium plugs with splitfire cable and K&N air filter with a aftermarket exhaust..

                          Wrong notion
NGK Plugs will only improve throttle response and help in cold start. Same with spit fire cables, they do nothing to improve bhp
K&N Filter with slip on will only give sound which will make one "feel" that bike is faster.
Just K&N will also add just sound, and will make engine have more dirt.
Just slip on will also do the same and will not give any power bump.
Also any of those tin can exhausts will only screw the engine.

I only wondered cause its the same 250cc engine, maybe it was tuned but the cubic capacity seems the same, I thought maybe some internal tuning did the trick n a few components. A k&n air filter only increases top end and its effect can only be felt with a exhaust, coming to after market exhausts I think we've had enough rants about that , I was just wondering if it's the same engine or revised one probably a bs-iv maybe?

the stock plug itself is NGK iridium tip. and free flow air filter will do nothing unless ou change the ECU map to use the revised air flow and the power curve

just a remap with a richer tune can make pretty good diffrence.
ex: modes in higer capacity bikes. rain mode : 100 bhp , slick 150 bhp.
cars : cruze : 150 bhp same engine on older cars with diffrent map made 120 bhp.

It's already been more than 2 years and you must flush radiator and fill-in with a new coolant. CBR manual advises to replace coolant every 2 years. If you have not done yet, please fill in new coolant. I do flush every 6 months. I also ride through Delhi traffic (Kalindikunj Sarita Vihar ) daily and it heats up during traffic jam and fan kicks in, but temp-bar never goes up beyond 3. I used to ride RXs earlier and when I bought CBR some 1.5 years ago, I also felt the same like it was heating a lot in comparison to my RX, but it's okay until temp-bar stays at 3. Also, share your odo readings if possible. Regarding service centers in Delhi/NCR, almost everyone is same , but you may visit Malwa Honda in Okhla. They are good at taking care of CBR engine.
