  • Better tyres

    Hi friends,

Would anyone have a lead on tyres with DEEPER treads for the CBR? My use is mainly on highways and commuting to and from the office, no racetrack knee-scraping. The present tyres are, IMO, too skinny. I don't mind sacrificing cornering performance for deeper tread depth.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Maneesh

    • @ Icemang, I appreciate you being a sport. I was worried about the mods and safety issues. You as a user is the best judge. A little give and take your purpose will be served and will have happy mile munching.

Just ensure that the extensions don't come loose..I have a suggestion....ask your mechanic to provide a locking screw on the side wall of the extension. It can be counter-sunk and a HI-TENSILE OR STAINLESS STEEL ALLEN-KEY GRUB SCREW CAN USED... this ensures the extensions will not come loose in case...

Also try to get KNURLING DONE on the extensions...where the clipon is clamped which provides additional safety.

About the steel rod...I am glad you have alternatives in the pipeline.

I wonder how you managed with the Cables with the increased height...Any mods with safety in mind is a good progress.

      Happy and safe riding. Regards.

        Thanks....aargee

Ohh....XX6 is super-sensitive, I forget about it completely. After Midnight when I bring the bike inside home for park, by just touching the handle XX6's security alert kicked in loud.

Very satisfied & complete peace of mind.

& yeah I also bought the ONR,845Wax,Opti clean from auto-mall before delivary - Thanks to you & Amlan CBR.

Looking for paddock stand & frame slider now.

        • Anyone felt tired on the because of the vibrations especially between 3k - 4k? I rode on wet roads in that RPM band for around 10 kms and was completely exhausted!

Riding slow on the bike actually is counter productive I think!

Think twice before buying a frame slider; Just think if its really required.

There's no vibes for me upto 8K RPM & couldn't note anything beyond that, unless I knock the engine.

Every gear has got its low riding RPM
            1st - 2K+
            2nd - 2.5K+
            3rd - 3K+
            4th - 3.5K+
            5th - 4K+
            6th - 4.5K+

Below these RPMs at the specified gear, the bike knocks even if 97 Octane is used for fuel. So it depends on which gear you've been riding in the 3-4K RPM

Ya I was in the optimal gear range but could be wrong. Will check again!

One more thing, does low quality fuel induce these kind of vibrations? Does the bike tend to feel heavy when using low quality fuel?

Vibrations are totally independent on fuel volume; But if you meant, low QUALITY of fuel, then yes, it certainly affects. I usually use 97 Octane, though 91 Octane is more than sufficient. I can visibly feel the difference of 97 Octane versus 91 Octane, be it even 91 Premium from Shell.

Last but not the least, DO NOT, expect a butter smooth ride as the vehicle is still single cylinder; you can always expect some vibes.

                    • Searched in google and youtube lot.......

I just want to know that screw size which bolted the battery in bike body(not asking the about battery terminal),looking for a T-shape Wrench to remove the screw.

                      Thanks.

                      please share the info.

The reason I asked was because I filled petrol yesterday and after that the bike became kinda 'heavy'. Plus the vibrations also increased. Took the bike out for a 200kms ride today and the vibrations were present across all gears. However, the vibrations reduced as I kept burning fuel and the bike almost became smoother once a major portion of that fuel was burnt away!
I couldn't think of anything else other than bad fuel quality.

I am facing the same issue. Pour in some oil and lube the lock well with the help of the key. Happens in this season..

Already did several times. For the time being it works fine but after a day or so same issue again.
