Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey guys! Had gone for my last free servicing, on the 18th of this month. Saw an updated R15, which the were referring to as the V3. There is only in West Bengal, as of now. Few had been given training on it. It has the lambda sensor, according to them.
Here are few images.
This is the only service centre here, which services the R1 bikes. An used R1 was also up for sale, for around Rs 7 lakhs.

The R15 in front of the one you send is also a 2014 model. So why isnt it called v3 ? Why do you believe a word from showroom (that it is v3) , when yamaha itself calls it v2 ?Originally posted by anishbora View PostHey guys! Ya it got released today. I was very happy when I woke up today expecting to see some new models and possible our eagerly waited R25/R3. But alas !! This is not a V3 but V2 only. Yamaha has not yet released the new R15 they are working on which will in turn have advanced FI, O2 sensor and all. But as of now there's no confirmed news of its launch date. Also, whether it will be called V3 or not is not clear yet. They might have made some changes to comply with the new tougher emission norms that are planned. And they have done a paint overhaul.Originally posted by anishbora View PostHey guys! I am not sure what this iteration of the R15 is going to be called, but the Yamaha India Motor's East Region's Training Manager, himself told me, that it was the one with the lambda sensor, and new FI. The Training Centre is just beside the factory shop. You must be thinking, that why and how would he tell me! He had come to check my bike's problem, after complaining to Yamaha, for the fifth time. So, got to know from him. And yes, the bike had almost zero sound from the fuel pump.Originally posted by ArnabC View Post

Regarding my bike's problem, it was rectified. He made the mechanics open each and every component in the cylinder head. It turned out to be a bent rocker-arm shaft, which was a manufacturing defect, and was replaced under warranty.

Maybe. That's a great news then. Anyways I was informed about the small change by Mr. Nitin Tiple, who also happens to be the training manager, head of service here at Pune, chief service engineer for the Yamaha India Factory Racing team and the Yamaha Factory Shop - Kolkata service guys report to him, that the new bikes have got only new colours and some changes to comply with the tougher emission norms. I asked him specifically about the O2 sensor and advanced FI but he answered in a negative.Originally posted by anishbora View PostI am not sure what this iteration of the R15 is going to be called, but the Yamaha India Motor's East Region's Training Manager, himself told me, that it was the one with the lambda sensor, and new FI. Anyways, it's good to see R15 getting better everyday. But now I guess it's time for Yamaha to launch the R25 here. Hope it would be done soon.
Can you please give a detailed explanation of what problem your bike was facing and how it got resolved, as it will help others to pinpoint the cause if they face such issues.

Yes, I don't like to rev it that hard like some maniacs does *vhoooo-vhooo-vhooo*
True strory it is to have such patience but.
Thank you for the info on revving my babe. And I'm glad I have manager it till now. I've clocked 754 on ODO and getting my bike serviced tomorrow for the first time as it is a month now. I've been riding it on 6th gear, around 50 Km an hour keeping the revs under 4K.
Any more call-outs about the first service?
And also about the filter...what is the best time to fit one of those K&N filters?

BTW, for first service , always make sure they change the Oil filter and change the oil too. Try to be physically present there when they are doing it. Get the air filter cleaned, and chain lubed and slack adjusted, that's about it.
Do not consider K&N or any free flow air filter as just a filter upgrade would not do any good, on the contrary, being a dusty place we live in it will introduce more dust and water particles(rainy season) and accelerate the wear and tear of the engine components.
Cheers
