Motul 5100 is semi-synthetic right?? IMHO it is best to use mineral oil for the initial run in period.Using synthetic oils during the run in period may cause your cylinder walls to glaze. I have used only mineral oil for the initial 8000km period on two bikes i have owned and only switched to semi-synthetic after that period. Mineral oil helps you to run in the engine better, but be sure to replace every 2000-2500kms or so. You can change the oil yourself at home, it will not void the warranty.STick to manufacture recommended oil specs or you may lose warranty. Also change oil filter if it is too dirty.

On my first service I did with bajaj and 2nd and 3rd I did with motul 7100. Engine is smooth in 1st service and very harsh in 2nd and 3rd. Now what I have to do. Shall I stick with motul and change it to 5100 for my next service or to go with bajaj. I have did 6000 km.

It sure is a carb problem, SVC is almost scared of opening the carb and inspect/clean it, as per them it may never be the same again and will have never ending issues.

Actual response from SVC " Sir gaadi dil se chalao dimag se nahi" choti moti fault apne aap dur ho jaegi

Note: Bike runs fine from 0-60 kmph - only after 70 kmph in 6th gear it gradually creeps in - If I keep the AFR at 2 turns out the flat spot occurs at 75 - 85 kmph, if the AFR is set at 3, 3.5 OR 4 turns the flat spot occurs at 65ish kmph
Haha .. Ns carb is very difficult to open as per Bajaj mechanics Said.
bro this is not a problem of AFR. One thing Is it happening on a specific RPM range or in 6th gear as you mention.
My friend face similar kind of problem, missing at specific rpm range 6-7k rpm .

Went today at Bajaj showroom at Vashi for asking the quotation for Pulsar 200NS. The onroad price here is INR 98,000.
But after it when I asked him the specifications of the bike he was negotiating me. And after awhile he came to me and started saying that, "Sir,you are still a student you don't need such a bike which has a poor resale value and mileage etc etc and was telling only the cons of the bike. All my effort that I took to convince my Dad to buy P200NS gone vain only by his 2 statements. [emoji31] [emoji31] [emoji31] [emoji31] [emoji30] [emoji30]
He was more eager to make me buy Discover 150F.

              Just went for a ride..

Bike can redline without any problem in 1,2,3and 4th gear

the missing starts in 5th gear @ 5k rpm till 7k rpm

missing is felt the most in 6th gear between 5.5k - 7k rpm range

just cant maintain a cruise rpm (5-7 k rpm) in 6th gear without missing

hope I've answered your query...how can I diagnose the root cause further..shall i ride in a select pattern or something to zero in on the issue??
Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

In bajaj manual they mentioned oil grade is 20w50. But motul 5100 grade is 15w50. Is this will make any trouble?

I am not asking about redline, i am asking specific Rpm range, your statement implies that you only get flat/missing at 5 or 6 gear.
Try to run constantly for little sec of time on 1,2,3,4 Gears between 5.5-7k.

The issue is seen most on 5th and 6th gears since the torque is low at those gears. It should occur in lower gears also but it wouldn't be noticeable. Is the ns equipped with tps? If yes, is it working properly? Also, check the spark plugs and try swapping them. If carb is not the issue, it could most probably be ignition circuit issue.

                        • Low Beam Projector Lamp Issue On Pulsar 220F

                          Hi Friends,

I have owned Pulsar 220F 7 months back however i am very happy from the ride since the issue comes to me regarding the projector lamp which is due to the fusing of bulb and after that I have visited my nearest service centre for the replacement and they did the replacement of the bulb but after the replacement i am facing the issue on clear projection of the bulb on the low beam.
I made complaint on bajaj customer care and they responded immediately on the same but the service centre engineers are not well trained and issue still not resolved. My location is South Delhi.

Kindly suggest me what i have to do now as its look weird if am carrying 220F Monster with me on Road and the projection is going to hell.

Hoping for your expert support on the same.

                          Regards,

Check the diaphragm, whoever is having dying out issues at specific rpm range. Replace it .

Hello rider, I am also facing the same issue regarding missing in the 5k-6.5k RPM range while in 5th and 6th gear. It happens occassionally but is very prominent. Sometimes I have to downshift to 4th and redline the gear and then shift up to eliminate the problem. My bike also completed 10k kilometers yesterday. I have installed a K&N BA-2012 replacement high flow air filter. THe acceleration has increased drastically post 5k RPM but the missing issue is more prominent in this. Do I have to replace the diaphragm because the bike hasn't even completed a year. Its barely 6 months old. @Anuj_Gupta , @royal racer , [MENTION=72510]John P Daniel[/MENTION] , [MENTION=63905]Mr.Officer[/MENTION] any insight on this?

1.) Check spark plug n its color which help to know it is running on optimum AFR
2.) Retune if require .. also calculate FE it gives you idea, Since you using K&n the you need upjetting on main jet.
3.) Clean your carb and also check slide n digraph.

Note : Worn out Slide causes Low FE and If Digraph is cut or worn out you will lose high rpm power
