  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

I have overtaken NS, Dukes, P220, R15s in heavy traffic during Durga Puja on a half century old bicycle \

Well, guys what tires are you guys running on your 200NS?One of my friend also removed the muffler of his NS but if a pieces of pipe is not added the engine loses back pressure. The exhaust note becomes louder but it is nothing that is orgasmic to the ears.
    I am back!

      Hi guys...
Its been 18000kms and ive finally lost my patience [ i've been VERY patient] with my euroslips... And my pocket says change only the rear tyre..
Ive been checking out tyres and have seen many.. Problem is, im not a fan of MRF, been seeing michelin pilot streets and sport demons, other than that.. but, theyre a bit too costly..[5.5k?? thought provoking..] So, anyone with suggestions for [rear] tyres? And do 140's fit on the NS?? Will it affect performance anyway? im a bit of a long rider and recently long commutes too.. so, with that context in mind.. [less punctures, but good enough grip] Or should i just dish out the cash and buy the michelins [looks nice. :P] ??

I was in the same dilemma as you guys and switched to MRF Zapper Q 100/80 R17 - Front and MRF Revz 130/70 R17 Rear [5k for both and got 1.5k in return for Eurogrip's = 3.5k nett]

Now, about the tyre(s) these are better than Eurogrip's anyday but not exceptional or anything great to write home about when used with P200NS.

From what I've read/heard these same tyre(s) perform exceedingly well with R15 - maybe it's the "synergy"between the two.

I've ridden about 1100 km with them and this is what I've to say

        a) Improved Braking in both wet/dry
        b) Instills confidence in rider - esp. using front brakes
        c) Better handling while cornering
        d) Good straight line stability

        Not so Good points

        a) Rear wheel still locks in panic braking at speeds of 55-60 km/h - but not as much as stock tyre(s)
        b) Not so good on loose sand/gravel even on a straight stretch

I cant comment on the performance at high speeds as the bike is still in running-in process
For anything that I may have left out - please feel free to ask

        Just my 2 cents
Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

I didn't understand, are you asking about the Reserve fuel knob ? The arrow should point towards "On"

The narrower end upwards is reserve and downward s is normal. The dot and other symbols are confusing

I am seriously beginning to doubt the MRF, today only while coming home i enquired about them and they are available in my city, but after reading the comments here and on another website, i wonder if they are worth. I mean not money wise, but needs wise, i hate stock tyres as they have a tendency to skid/lock very easily. I dont mind spending some money for tyres that provide some tangible safety
              What about Michelins?

The newer lot P200NS has a slight difference, HALF FULL symbol is reserve.
Happy to post a pic if confusion persists

It doesnt become easy, does it ??

Back then, I knew MRF's limitations and seriously wanted Pirelli's but I wasnt getting a good deal, money wise

Other thing was, someone here mentioned that they shine in first 3-5k km and then are prone to punctures, noise level, loss of grip etc etc and finally wear out at 8-10k km

Waiting for days now to get the new dual tone Pulsar 200 NS out here. Dont know why things arrive so late at Assam. When I was at delhi last month I saw hundreds of dual tone 200 NS. Really now I miss my Pulsar 220 .
