I don't know the directions buddy. Just go and complaint about the poor headlight and ask them to adjust headlight beam. They will do it. It's much better than before. I have a lot of improvements in my bike after 1st service. Especially in gear shifting, engine sounds, breaking, and etc.... What about you buddy?

    @dhiwakar
Regarding marriage. Buddy i just compare both your bikes. Not your life. Don't take seriously about your life. Just handle your new bike as a newly married girl or a small baby which is learning to crawl. Very soon it'll walk and later it will start to run. Don't mistake me. It's just a real time example.

    Regarding gear shifting.
I am new to geared vehicles. So i got lot of suggestions from my friends. Everyone said minimum speed for top gear is around 45 kmph. 30 kmph is very less buddy. I think that's why you're facing all those trouble. Experienced bikers must comment on this. Especially ssivakumar can come up with a better answer. I'll put 4th gear in 30 kmph. 5th in 40 and 6th around 50. Please correct me if i am wrong.
The rule of thumb is that keeping the bike around 40% of red line RPM keeps the engine running with least stress.

I think for GS150R it should be around 3-4.5k RPM. Keep it there and your cylinder kit will be good as new for years. Anything lower is a stress on the cylinder kit even though it does not knock. Knocking only means extreme stress and serious damage. Anything above that engine will be gasping for oil.

If you are cruising or need good acceleration keep it near its peak torque region.

          wow thats impressive
I still have a doubt that how these big machines run in our Indian roads... especially GSX1300R(touches 190kmph in first gear)

I think GSX600R may be suitable to our decent highways

                    • i dont have an RPM meter. Speedo meter is not the best benchmark to change gears, as road incline, carrying load matters which gear u ride in... I would suggest, keep an ear on engine sound, anything other than smooth, change the gear. Dont wait for the engine to start jerking...

Hey even though you didn't hear any knocking sound from the engine, first it is not at all recommended by anyone. Your engine parts will struggle to give that power in less rpm. I think that's why you're facing all those problems buddy. Consider everyone's comments. No one says that you can put 6th gear within 30 kmph in 2.5k to 3k rpm. You are the only person saying that. Bubbly is speaking about downshifting. He says when riding in 6th gear downshift is not necessory if the speed is above 30. That's something different from this issue. Animeher suggest to change gears at 3.5 k to 4 k rpm. Ssivakumar recommends to shift to 4th gear in 30 kmph. Augustine, Animeher, ssivakumar, shadowfax, sarvajit, hydbiker, sam9s all seams to be experts. I personally insist you to try to follow comments from them buddy. And then check whether your problem remains same or reduces.

All your complaints are unique. That's why i'm considering more about your riding skills buddy. I didn't mean that your riding is actually wrong. Your new bike has more power, more cc and an extra gear when compared to your old one. I insist you to change your riding skills according to your new machine buddy. That's it.

Sir, the gear shift ratio is a bit different from the other indian bikes...
I was used to a honda shine b4 this bike...
Me too found issues while handling this bike initially, It is completely different from Shine...

                        Now Guess what???
I find it very hard to handle Shine

So, its time to forget the sweet old memories with ur Victor
And as karthick said u have to adopt new skills to handle GS Buddy...

Taking all your posts in the right spirit , will try to alter my driving habits..

another thing i noted yesterday when driving was that , the gear throw (if this exactly is the word to describe) is longer than other indian bikes.. as mathew pointed out , think its different from others...

when i shift gears i hear two distinct clicks or engagement.. i think that why i find it difficult to shift gears down... i have started hitting the lever hard and i find downshifting is better... point to remember i suppose..

but, when my cousin came here day before yesterday, he rode the bike and started laughing.. he said.. "dei.. it is not a bike.. this is a piaggio share auto.. hear the noise.. "

I had few problems in using remote lock buddy.
                            1. Suddenly the remote lock stops working. I tried several times. It didn't work. The next day morning, i give a final try. I heard a slight sound from it. But didn't work. So i took it to xenos showroom. I parked my bike in the parking lot and checked it. It worked flawlessly. Strange. I asked the showroom guy to check whether it has any loose contacts. After analysing my bike. He said there is no loose contacts. If you face similar problems again just remove the connector pin. Blow it and connect it back. After that incident. I didn't face that problem again.
                            2. One day my friend enquired about the remote lock. I just switched on the ON/OFF button just to show a demo on it. I forgot to switch it back to off position. That is the biggest mistake i've ever done in my life. After that when i used the start button, my bike moved a bit and fell on another bike. Now i am riding my bike with few bumps and scratches on my tank. I enquired about changing the tank. They said it'll cost around 4000 rupees. You can claim insurance. But it'll take one week to get your bike back with the new tank.
It is purely my mistake. I don't know what to do. Whether to claim insurance or spend 4000 bugs or to keep my bike as it is. Remote lock feature is quite good. But don't forget to fix a button to control remote start feature. keep it always off. Don't ever turn it on. Please learn from my experience.

                            Suggestions are welcomed
