A few days ago I had to hard brake because of a an ignorant pedestrian. I was going at 90s, the ABS kicked in but some thing weird happened. The handle bar wobbled violently during the braking. This never happened before. I have no idea what is wrong. Now I am not as confident as before at high speeds. Please share your thoughts.

Handle bar wobble or break lever wobble, if it is the break lever then it is normal abs pulsations preventing the wheel lock. For handle bar wobble u need to get cone set check for bar bearings or lose t bolt.

Few of the upgrade on my Dominar

This is surely a head turner... looks premium. no doubt.

Looks like you've swapped entire front assembly including triple clamp and forks with Duke 390..???

I'm thinking the same kinda setup for my friend's 2017 Dom ABS version. IMO swapping the front fork setup with mahindra MOJO's USD forks(143 mm travel) would be better than Duke's.
Is it possible to use Mojo's forks on Dominar?

I own Impulse right now for all stuff like off-roading, touring, and daily commute.
Its been 3 weeks i'm using my friend's Dominar 400 ABS as she's out of India
I find the suspension setup like very stiff for my style. It's like even on 25-30 kmph the front and rear suspensions make thud/tuck sound on normal sized speed breaker and it's really annoying to use those pathetic (nearly non existent) brakes and gear down every time.

So basically what I want is comfortable seat for like 700-1000 kms/day, cozy suspension with more travel than stock with more ground clearance to do normal off roading.

so here's what I am thinking to do with Dom,

        1) Front Fork upgrade - MOJO USD 143mm travel
        2) Sofa seat from Autolog Designs,Pune
        3) Rear suspension upgrade - don't know which one and where I can get it done. (Yes it'll affect the chain sprocket if i increase the rear suspension travel)
        4) Spoke wheels front 19 rear 17/18 tube type. (finger's crossed )
        5) Brakes upgrade - stock ABS brakes are pathetic on highway/ city traffic... so thinking whether we can do master cylinder/ caliper upgrade to get it just right.

Any advice on this would be helpful. TIA

I have never seen anyone complaining about Dominar's braking ability.

And why do you want tube tyres?

Maybe it's just me.. coz mostly I ride my Impulse which doesn't have ABS and it stops on the spot after hard breaking considering wheel locking etc.
but when riding Dom, at aroung 90-100 kmph on highway, on hard braking the response I get on my bike is too slow. it doesn't respond as expected. Also I can hear a knocking(thud) sound coming from fork/cone set (I'm not sure) It's same sound as we can hear on speed breakers.

it's been more than 3 years owning Impulse, I've become all time offroader it's like now I hardly slow down if there's speed breakers or any potholes. So spoke wheels serves better than cast wheels here. Spoke wheels deform(dent) on hard hit however cast wheels may crack and fail. That's why I was thinking to change rims to spoke wheels.

haha.. i think you should go for RE Himalayan when its launched with ABS.

As per these requirements, you won't be happy with Dominar. [emoji23]

Other thing is, if the pads are ok the u need to look into the piston of the caliper it might not be opening and closing properly due to dust, so here u need to remove the caliper and clean it with diesel or WD-40 and apply piston Grease or break fluid.

Today morning noticed oil leaking through right side front fork. And I am pretty sure its because of oil seal issue (I had faced the same in my Duke 200, twice.!). And this is caused due to dust and sand entering the bottom tube and messing up the close tolerance of the seal.
So my warning to all my fellow dominarians is to fit a rubber boot or shock absorber sleeve to prevent this.
                  .

Same here, but from the left fork. Will be getting this replaced under warranty, its better to avail it since the labour costs can be very high otherwise. I have done around 3500km in a year. I agree with having rubber bushes on any motorcycle, really prolongs the life of the oil seals. Just like a chain cover is to a chain. People expecting upside forks on a dominar should really rethink the practicality aspect of it. Must be a nightmare with upside down forks. India is a dusty country. I have a CT 100 that hasnt popped an oil seal in over 5 years.

Pads looks ok clean them . But the roator and caliper looks dirty, means rotor has carbon and leather leftover from pads. Clea. First with acetone/ nailpaint remover.
And get the caliper cleaned too.

Bike has done close to 1300 kms. With the rising mercury level, now a days i can feel the heat. Radiator comes up after 10km or so.
After 1st service, somehow the gear shifts are bit hard. Will keep a tab on this and if persists will check with service center

Today i installed my first mod , a back rest (lluvia industry product). Its just so easy to install and the product is quite sturdy.

Its bit bigger in real than how it looks in pics.

Yeah. You are right.. I changed front fork seal two times while I was using Duke 200 over 16000 kms usage. This despite putting effort to clean the forks everyday and whenever possible..I’m gonna fit the rubner boot sometime next week..

Haha HELL NO!! [emoji23][emoji13] Himalayan is robust.. No doubt.
But I'm 6 foot 4 inch tall guy... And himalayan doesn't fit so well for me... I mean when I sit on that bike the front cluster which comes down towards tank side... Touches my knees.. And it hurts really bad upon braking. Trust me I've used Himalayan for over a month period and just like dominar... If I buy Himalayan... First thing I need to do is change whole front cluster along with fuel tank.. [emoji28]

On the hand Dom ticks all points except suspension travel and ground clearance. It fits perfectly between my legs. 🤟🏼[emoji18] and right now I'm using my friend's Dom for a while. And I'm really happy with the performance.

I choose Dominar over Himalayan. [emoji16]
