Do not make this mistake, diesel or 2T oil does not have to ability to remove the dirt/mud present within the Joints, all it can do is to remove the dirt from the top layer (as shown in the above pic) and settle the dirt within the thin joints, it cannot penetrate and pull out the dirt throughout. Apparantly your chain will look clean, but really it isn't. Think logically the chain is not covered with a mask to ensure the entry of foreign particles is blocked. Its a open chain, anything may stick to the chain and we need a suitable aerosol to pull out all dirt from the chain completely.

Thats why showroom guys have an aerosol spray and if you are smart enough get the TVS chain cleaner spray from showroom, its the most cheapest and the best value for money than Motul etc.
For lubing the best one is Yamalube, its about 220rs here in Chennai for 500ML, its the most durable I have seen, better than costly brands. If you continue to use Diesel or any other oil to clean, then soon you will lose the slackness with performance/mileage downfall, finally endup spending on a new set of chain/sprocket

Did you mean to say tvs chain lube? Or is it chain cleaner only? I have heard of tvs lube but this cleaner is not known to me.

I'v been using TVS chain Lube from day 1 for lubing chain..But during these rains chain gets into bad condition within 200km..It is a complete waste of cash & time to ride down to SVC just to get it lubed..Was wondering of any easier way of maintaining the chain.. In some video the guy used kerosine to clean the chain first then he sprayed a chain lube..Can i do the same when i buy a TVS chain lube can or require a chain cleaner also..??

Bro I am sure that you know the difference between chain cleaner and lube, Get the TVS chain cleaner spray thats the most cheap and best that you can get in India, I use it in all my bikes. Coming to lube, use Yamalube chain lubricant, cost is 220 per 500ML can in Chennai. Most effective, I lubed my R15 chain about 500kms ago and still the chain retains moisture in it.

+1 I agree. This would be the most feasible solution for our beasts at this moment..
Dont defeat your enemy.. destroy him. offer hope then crush it..fuel his ego then break it.. finally. deploy ABS..execute the curve..victims defeat assured.. victims confidence destroyed...!!! All with my Beast.. Racing beast....!!!!

                  • its been long time posting...

facing a problem and am confused if its tps prob or something else.
bike recently has caught the cold start problem and even after riding for sometime it lacks power. as if like running out of fuel and it actually stops.... cleaned the carb but still problem persists. sometimes it just runs like a wild horse with no problem at all. any idea abt whats happenin?

it runs proper when the choke is pulled.

ps- its not the normal rtr hiccup problem. bikes run 28k without any probs.

                      Possibilities i can think of.:
If have you switched fuel types recently (normal to premium or to shell etc).
If the Air filter/Carburetor is dirty.
If the Spark plug is closing on its life.
If there is a dirt particles collected in fuel tank.
                      ..

Get these things sorted out of your the list. Your issue should be resolved.

                      • switching fuels has never been a problem. ive had the bike for 2 and a half year n this is the problem that has got me scratching my head.

airfilter cleaned. carb cleaned. spark plug looks okay yeah it needs change its been 10000kms since last change.

the problem first started on a tour i was doing of 1200km. heavy rains n freezing cold at nights. so is there any chance of my TPS OR CDI gettin screwed? people who had prior tps experiences please share your knowledge

Hiccups (like you are braking for some secs and then letting go...really annoying) during 3-4K rpm while throttle used gradually/constant operation is typical with a faulty TPS.

Did not experience cold start problem and no, no stalling either when my bike's TPS became faulty, two times.
