AFAIK, The Clutch plate has no fixed life..It purely depends on the riding style, riding condition, engine oil levels/type of oil..
I've covered 18k km & the CP has not been changed, but the clutch release bearings was changed at 14k km(was a manufacturer defect , costed INR 0.00)...

      • Carlton from goa (GEARS member) has not changed the clutch plates of his RTR refresh in 80k kms, I have changed twice in 32k kms, so it all depends on riding style as mentioned above

          • After a regular intervals of km, my RTR starts to bleed oil from the engine head..I used to go to SVC & they would apply sealant & the leak would stop..
Now the TVS SVC claim the the bolts have lost their threads & "re-threading" needs to be done & it requires 2 days.. Is this "re-threading " possible or even the bolts loosing threads possible or the SVC just ripping me off..??

I personally have not heard this, but just out of curiosity, have you checked the packing of the head. Changing that might also help, rather I am speculating, its because of that

Packing was changed & new sealant was applied just 2k km ago..The oil leak had stopped for few hundred km, now its back..
The same Mech. tells me it is the threading has completely worn out & the bolts are not holding in place..

Wouldnt this be an opportune time for a Joel work. it's gonna cost you a lot anyway, doing all this repair work. Get your bike to Joel. Explain your problems. I'm sure there'll be a fix.

                    • My ride is at 9k km. The chain has developed bends, is nearing death and makes a lot of noise. Can I get it changed under warranty?

                      • PC Gamer - Ideally, yes you can !!! but it all depends on how your present it to the Territory Manager or Service Manager of TVS (not of Service Centre), tell him that this happened so early & its premature issue if your bike is less then 6 month's old then it will be added benifit in your claim of warrranty .... I have changed mine under warranty at somewhat around 11-12k.

But if you will ask SVC people they will simply say it doesnt come under warranty, so use some trick ...

These are series of LEDs in a transparent pipe......thats it, thats why so cheap.
The seal pack can be opened with a heat gun/hair dryer , and then to re-seal, you need to use a rubber adhesive.

                          • I am also interested in getting joeled but need help yaar, how reliable its for Long Tour ? Practically how much power & top end gets increases by just Big Bore Kit from Joel ? & Tuned Freeflow exhaust is necessary with big Bore ? if yes then anyway to reduce the noise with that ?
