  • Lijo, couldn't agree more on whatever you said. How I wish people should know all that. But the sad part is, people think themselves as Einstein even when they go for even some local n cheap aftermarket exhausts and things like K&N filters and splitfire cables; and when you tell such things to people, they think you as a fool who don't know how fast these things will make their bike This specially happens on facebook groups.

Feels good to have people like you, nisnth etc. back here.

and the guy claimed of better pick up, 5kmp/l better mileage, Crisp Response & +10 Top end speed... however everything was still fine till he said NGK help in wheelie too :P

        I Surrender !!!

        • ^^^ HAHAHA
Put that in the 'hilarious quote' thread.
And people also assume, 2 discs means faster. RTR 160 with single disc is slower wrt RTR RD.
Mean while, completed 42K kms on my RTR...

Rpm is shown in the taco meter. Its is rotations per minute,ie engine speed.
Shifting at higher rpm is known to reduce mileage,so ride more, then you will understand your bike better and you will know when to shift for performance, health of engine.
Please don't lug the engine for mileage, you might get some +5kmpl,but later end up with costly engine repairs. After all what is the fun in that?
If for mileage I would love to rip my 100cc,than lugging a 250cc.Hope you got the point!

                      • Ideal gear shift for a healthy engine & good fuel efficiency should be around 4000 R.P.M, you can make it 4500 to 5000 R.P.M for 4th & 5th gear. If you are cruising for long distances then you can safely cruise around 6000 to 7000 R.P.M without harming your engine. @SHAHBAZ63: Avoid regular power shifting at high revs it will effect the clutch, gearbox & sprockets in long run.

Maximum power is 17.03 Bhp @ 8500rpm bro.. & Max torque is 15.5 Nm @ 6500rpm... Hence shifting at 5-6.5 k rpm is most fuel efficient.. Around 58(+) kmpl in 5th gear, 5-6.5k rpm range on highway & no down shifts or brakes..

Ended up doing a bit of "footpath" riding & was forced to jump onto the road.. The height of jump was around 1-1.5 ft with a pillion..Now the front wheel wobbles & pulls left at low speeds. Went to a TVS SVC & got the front handle "adjusted", But was of no use as usual..What could be the problem..?? This wobble started after few hundred km (400-500) after the jump.. Could it be the alloy..?? I'v noticed a that the disc & pads are rubbing & make a soft sound..

I had posted recently about my bike leaking oil & that "re-threading" was required.. Now the re-threading has been done, the re-threading charges for one Bolt is INR40..Rode the bike for ~100km after the fix & I'm speculating that the oil is still leaking..What else can be done to stop the oil leak..??
