    1. 7 punctures on the rear tyre ,out of which 2 are a year old..The old repaired punctures have started leaking air again. How to repair the old punctures..?? Can the old inserted strips be removed OR should new ones be put over the existing strips..??
    2. Rear brake pads were changed at 12k km.Now the braking efficiency of front & rear have decreased drastically.I get a metal scrapping sound while applying full rear brake. The TVS mechanic says the brakes are fine & brake pads are NOT worn out..What could be the problem..??Bleeding of brakes required..?? & TVS SVC claim to have "cleaned" the pads & disc, during a service a few hundred km back..
3.Got the spark plug changed. It costed INR 115. Do TVS replace the spark plug by a "Bosch Super R6" plug.?? Coz they appear to be slightly different & the gaps of the electrode appear to be more.
Bosch super is what the I have as stock on my ride. The separation is now .6mm compared to the usual .5mm I've seen. And 7 punctures qualifies for a new tire!!! and judging by your problem I think your discs may be bent. Please have a different person inspect it. You may just need to do bleeding. But check all the same.

Raise this in the motorcycle detailing thread in the universal threads section. You'll get a good answer there. Even of you just go thru the posts you'll find an answer.

WOW..I was able to identify the difference in the plug gaps by just seeing..
Had the same, front brake problem some 5k km back..The mech had done bleeding, braking had improved but not as a new bike.. & TVS SVC mech.s don't want to change the pads.(God knows why).
Trying to push this set of tyres till 20k km..Some guy told me to put a tube inside the tyre and use it till I get a new set..

Don't do the tube thing. Afaik it's not safe!! Better get a new set of rubbers man. If I were you I'd jump at the opportunity. Cant wait to get rid of the tvs rubbers!!

A set of PSDs if I can afford it. You have a PSD set that's exactly the same specs as our stock. That. Or if that's out of range then MRF zapper-c 120/80-17 for rear and probably zapper fs for the front.

apply WD40 or rust removing solution like zorrik 88. After a minute of application wipe of the solution & you will see a rust free surface. Don't use polish/emery paper to remove rust.

                • Hello guys. is rtr 180 ABS available readily all over india ? because i am interested to get one. I am from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh and i inquired the 2 tvs showrooms available at my place. One refused saying that neither they nor anyone else from this city may provide the ABS version and the 2nd showroom showing no interest to bring one abs bike. Though he said he will call me back after inquiring from chennai. So can one from small city/town buy this apache abs today? I have also posted a new thread "what bike" section with my requirements and options. waiting for the thread for approval.

That's pretty surprising. It is tvs' best bike. How can it not be available!?

Anyone can buy a bike from any city/state but need to register it in his home state/city with in few days before temp registration expires!!

This can happen as some dealers might not find ABS as sellable product rather than non ABS or RTR 160 apache... Don't forget mass sale is what showroom prefer. But surely you can place an order and get it when his next lot of bikes come.

Or else get it from some where else and register it here. Mostly all every where it's the same.. Even it's rare to get a CBR ABS model readily available.

Once had got a chance for CBR ABS but after 2 months he said no available and need to wait for 15days -1.5 months.... pitty me I should have booked it previously then i would have been better ..

You mean at this site ?
                          TVS Apache RTR ABS 180
I found the dealers' list from this site only as i am new to this city.
I read somewhere in tvs site that they were offering 4 steps online to get the bike, probably in this site only.
By the way, their "contact us" 'showing Bad Response' message (including some other links)
I think i should call the local tvs people once more to inquire about the bike.
i kept reading all the message of you guys about rtr 180 ABS. How is your bike running now and are you apache ABS people satisfied with it ?

                          • Ahhh, glad you asked

Well The Stock bike is something which can't be unnoticed in a crowd of dozen of other bike, its superb pick up & braking stand out in his segment...though it lag in top end but in his segment or below only R15 & CBR 150 has better top end , though CBR 150 i guess does same as RTR.... Newer version of Apache is stable at high speed (personally experienced)... as most of the owner said its made to take abuse but you have to be care full with servicing then... ABS is worth of spending so go for ABS model & see the difference ....

over all I am satisfied with the bike but servicing is main issue with TVS there svc are full of crap & cheap people knowing nothing about bike, almost.

Anything you would like to know about Newer version ping me or ask freely, happy to help
