Engine seems to be bit smooth now Vibration's are also less....
I am planning to add Castrol Magneto 10w30 .. What say guys ?

Just my personal opinion, the old RTR180 looks like an upgrade to this one. It seems to be out of proportion and lacks the design harmony of the old RTR. And not sure why the head lamp was changed....the muscular appeal of RTR heavily relied upon the old headlamp.
No offense to any-one/thing
(But the overall product finishing is miles ahead of the old RTR)Last edited by HarishK; 07-26-2012, 12:48 AM.

old ones headlight was mascular...but lacked the oomph factor. it was too plain. but as seen in many mods adding a projector and led pilots improved that. still they should have brought out a split seat and monoshock (stupid view of mine :P)Originally posted by HarishK View PostJust my personal opinion, the old RTR180 looks like an upgrade to this one. Neverthless the new look seems to generate different opinions from different people..some like it...some hate it...personally i felt it was a bad move from TVS part but after seeing her in real i changed my opinion..i loved the design..so i went forward and brought her home

What was the need of it? Cleaning it first and then adding some oil to trap the dirt was enough. IMO the air filter need no replacement at-least till 10,000kms.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostSecond Servicing Done the First expression from SVC Engineer was "sir July me hi toh First Servicing hua thode din baad aoo na"

Castrol Magnatec 10w30? You serious? Man, this one is meant only for cars and NOT recommended using it or *adding it* on a motorcycle.
Stay away from Castrol Magnatec/Shell Helix range which are for cars. Both the companies have motorcycle oils for us to go for.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Why did u change the air filter...?? If it was SVC's idea, my friend u have been cheated if u paid for the filter or else you are very lucky
..
Go through the "Engine oil" thread to gain some knowledge & use what is best for RTR...
Going to SVC for the 6th service..Any points that I should look into to get my beast back in mint condition..??

Regarding engine oil:
If your bike is relatively new [odo <5000km], its better that you stick to mineral. After that you can think of semi synthetic and when its around 10000km, you can think of fully synthetic. That's how the oil change phases are.
Regarding Air filter: It can easily last over 10k kms [mine has
]. Jus maintain it properly. Try cleaning atleast once in 2000km/1.5months.
Regarding the RPM JUMP:
It can be due to:
1. Choke cable is not in right slackness.
2. Tuning problem
3. Dirty air filter
4. Carb is unclean
5. If all thses checks fail , it MAY be the TPS. But if thats the case, your mileage and performance will be low. It's not about the RIDE. It's about HOW YOU ride :]

That's just for the sake of a nameOriginally posted by shahbaz63 View Postjsg ^ But TVS Tru4 is SS they use it from start i.e. 0km
IMO a really really crap oil...many minerals are better than that
The engine needs a bit of breaking in, so better to go with the better Mineral oils of the lot initially [make sure with your dealer that you don't nullify the warranty
]
And regarding Fully Synthetic, i still haven't used the FS ones. Some of my peer RTRians are facing a huge oil loss within 300kms or so. [I don't know how
or why ] But SS: works wonders. Especially Valvoline and Motul [myself use it]

I think we can fool them easily if i am correct that its hard to differentiate oil from diff brand, isnt it ?Originally posted by jsg View PostThat's just for the sake of a name

If its then we can change Engine Oil by ourself too & we can do experiment ..
