Y I should keep ma RTR just for sake of TVS ? I won't ... what I will get by FFE & after market kits ? A Roar Sound, A 30% Boost in pick up & 10% Top end by investing 25 thousands....

I would rather get a engine with stock capabilities of same

All Said & Done, I am not against after market kit. but I am not attached with TVS or Hero, or XYZ, what matters is my personal need.

Going to some local mechanic henceforth..

As you wish buddy... If you are going for bigger bikes.. Obviously we can't compare them with A-180..
However, For a guy with limited budget.. Apache 180 is best in class by far...

Had been away for some time now. I amseeing a lot happenning in the thread. Really feel so sory for the TVS svc all over India. I am so lucky, to have the best SVC here. Had I been at your place, I would have been equally frustrated. But I cant look beyond TVS/Yamaha,as they are the best at my place(Yamaha has the best SVC all over India). What ever bike you change, to do check for good svc at you area. Any bike can be f***ed up by stupid SVC people. Enjoy friends...

prateek apparently bend valves are caused due to incorrect timing chain settings. My mech told me I just escaped from it due to timely reporting and diagnosis. I guess the timing I your ride was messed up during last rebuild

Guys the fuel indicator is continuously blinking & at the same time showing full fuel. I have around half tank petrol. The blinking is similiar to the blinking of reserve indicator. Any idea or solution?

Check the fuel sensor that is beneath the petrol tank

Thanks prateek2210, was thinking of doing the same. Will do this sunday.
I think if there is no connection problem then we can replace the sensor. Anyone knows the cost of sensor? or has faced similar problem..

I purchased a tube of Anabond 666T RTV gasket maker & got a new gasket for the engine head.. I applied the bond on the outside of the engine head- engine joint just to be on the safe side.. The engine oil leak from the head has stopped now..Fingers crossed, hopping the gasket will last for a long time..

Call out to all Bangalore Apachians!

I have given my RTR 180 for service at several places till date. Started with the TVS service centres, my relationship with them did not last for long. I tried Bharath motors and SLV motors. Later on I tried a local mechanic, which was a decent experience, but I felt that he did put in some unnecessary billing to make some easy money. Lastly shifted to the Castrol bike zone at Banashankari where I have been giving for the last one year. Until recently, the quality of service was satisfactory. But in the last two services, I have seen them overcharge compared to other places and within a week of service the bike starts choking on problems.

So my question to you guys is: Where do you give your beloved beast for servicing? Maybe some of us could share our thoughts on this and help the others.

Regards,
Vijay

to all "Apachians"
I am not an owner of an Apache
even not a frequent rider or ripper.
one question.
can we make apache 100-0 within 4 seconds on good tarmac (non-slippery) ???
yesterday we had seen an accident.
now the rider of an Apache is in heaven.
he made more than 20 mts braking marks, but.....
He couldn't make it
Will ABS read speedo meter ???
or both wheel's rotation???

Just for my knowledge, for future
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time

100- 0 in 4 seconds it possible.... ABS read wheel rotations nothing else .... it will calculate that & will not allow wheels to be locked that's it... Help in Effective braking !!!

20 meters Tyre marks means 1 seconds of brake say 30/40-0 kp/h.. I, personally has came from 120 - 0 in around blink of eyes say 4-5 seconds with pulling front brake like anything ! SCary though!
