prateek2210 - I thought since SafeABS came from a reputed maker of automotive safety products, they might be better than those chinese knockoffs but then again its just a brake force regulator & not a true ABS system like the Continental ABS in most bikes. BTW Joel's Duke 230 luks awesome B)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
aditya_iyer I will get the paintcoat done asap.
BTW did you replace the headlamp to osram? I was thinking of replacing it as the stock bulb's throw is quite short and its colour doesn't match with the beast's eyes

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yeah, i will be upgrading to OSRAM's nightracer plus light soon at my next servicing. Already had a terrible accident due to less throw of our headlights & pmc negligence. So drive carefully at nightOriginally posted by kdevdatta View Postaditya_iyer I will get the paintcoat done asap.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys, need some help with one issues I am currently facing..
Bike is 2011 RTR 160 ridden 12k kms.. I am having cold start problem.. Problem in the sense the bike starts in single kick ( or single button press) and will happily stay in idle as long as it wants.. But the moment I give some throttle it stalls.. So normally I would let it idle for around 2-4 mins and it would come back to normal, but last few days it takes good 5-10 mins to warm up.. Just got my bike service 2 weeks back.. your help much appreciated
Regards,
Yogesh.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
guys the brake fluid level of my front brake in the reservoir has decreased. it used to be almost full in the small circular window but now its just above the halfway mark when i checked it with the bike on main stand
havent checked the rear brake fluid level as yet. what should i do now? change the brake fluid or top it up? i use 60:40 front:rear brake while riding. there is also a squeeling noise heard while i apply the front brake. my bikes run 3k on the odo and its 2 months old and there doesnt seem to be any leak around the master cylinder area. any idea?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
yogesh.vk & ranju567 if you haven't recently fiddled with your carburetor then the problem may be due to a dirty air filter which compromises on air intake on starting acceleration, I don't think it would be a case of TPS ( or it may??)
Abishek94 both 2 months time & 3k km seems to be less for reduction in brake fluid level. Check out with your service station. The squeeling noise is generally due to dirt & dust deposits, a pressure wash will normally solve it.

You can change stock tyres on a brand new bike as well.. No rule for the life if the tyre.. Many guys have changed tyres just after taking delivery & a few guys have changed after 30-40k km..
If you up size the tyre , by keeping the aspect ratio constant, the FE increases a bit..

TVS apache 180 problem
Hello i am having a 2011 tvs apache 180 model, done around 13000 kms only
.
I am having some serious issues with my bike. Firstly when accelerating, it doesnt accelerate easily to speeds, and at some point (7000-7500 rpm) when i rest the throttle, the tachometer needle varies too much, it just jumps from 6000 - 7000 back and forth WTH ! Also the bike sounds like it has a different exhaust note.
Just went to SVC and they say the bike is good. I am a novice in bikes thing so help me plz
. Need to know whats wrong with my bike ASAP.
