Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I'll post it later in the evening..but the crate formation on the disc clearly indicates the inefficiency of braking.. Labor may be around 150.. Together you may have to lay around 1150 altogether..

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
1. Are they doing it for free even for out of warranty vehicles?Originally posted by vrags View PostGuys, just got the gear link assembly installed on my RTR and it really has made a big difference now. Gear shifting is just a piece of cake... there has been prominent difference in it's response on gear shifting. Amazing job by TVS. Just go out n get this installed on your beasts. Real feast for ride now...Beyond all, it's at free of cost. Brilliant job..
Heads up for the entire TVS crew for their continued support...
2. Is it only for RTR 180 or 160 is also included?
3. From which service centre did you get it done? Are you a regular there?
4. Does it cause any change in the angle of your foot when shifting?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I guess its the tvs rimura or something. Wee bit softer compound (still hard as hell) and michelin pilot sporty copy tread pattern. Good move by tvs but a medium compound will be a better bet.Originally posted by Abishek94 View PostCongrats on Ur new beast!
Which front tyre Is that? Did you change the tyre?

Perfectly all right. Just that I should have been specific- "Do it in a open space, not on busy roads." Come on now, how hard is it, to find a 1 km empty stretch/field?Originally posted by SparKot View PostIs it right to ask fellow owners to red-line their steed ?HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Redlining in any gear has the same consequence once the engine is warm. Its safe if you shift at 7K RPM (for RTR), in the first gear, as it gets the time to warm up till you reach 9K in second gear. Similarly its not advisable to rev past 5K while idling in the morning.Originally posted by Devesh View PostRedlining
I wanted to know that is their any difference in first gear and other gears.

Redlining once a while is necessary for the bike, but doing it everytime can screw the engine big time.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

1) Shud be free for all vehicle but it depends on ur rapport with SVC. Coz the notice says, its only for the vehicles under warranty.
2)Its for both 160 and 180.
3) I have always been to Bharath SVC in Jayanagar from past 5 years. Both my previous 160 and 180 were serviced there. They provide excellent service. No offence yet..
4) Yes. The new one is lil short than the old one and u might see the difference in angle, inclined upwards. But, gear shifting, sheer smooth.. You'll love it for sure..Dont defeat your enemy.. destroy him. offer hope then crush it..fuel his ego then break it.. finally. deploy ABS..execute the curve..victims defeat assured.. victims confidence destroyed...!!! Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Can you post some pics of the new gear shift assembly
I own a TVS APACHE 160, which is around 2yrs old. My rear shock absorbers have lost its ground, pillon started to get pain on his back, when i go through bumps. Now i am planning to change my rear shocks, i researched in net that the NITROX P220 rear shockabsorbers fit directly to RTR, and i costs way less than the GABRILE RTR 160 stockabsorbers. Should i have retain the stock absorbers (or can i use rtr 180 shocks for rtr 160), or can i go with P220 rear shocks.Originally posted by vrags View Post1) Shud be free for all vehicle but it depends on ur rapport with SVC.
