Though i must say the bike looks odd with the enormous Sirac and the diminutive Zapper FY.

With the R15 front you probably have the stickiest combination(ignoring the R15 rear for aesthetic reasons). Do give it a try around your favourite corner asapOriginally posted by rahul9985 View Post

Its stickier than stock, but will give way as at the end of the day it is more or less a button tyre, need more rubber in contact with the tarmac to hold on better.Originally posted by Samyaza View PostOff the top of my head this is the 4th 220 guy putting Siracs. You, John, Niranjan and now Rahul. Rode John's bike after he put R15's front. Couldn't feel much from the front as his brakes are in poor shape but the rear felt insanely sticky while accelerating in corners.
2.7K, well if it was available at the cost at which I bought it in I would have ridden down to Hyd to get it!Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostI guess its around 2700 MRP. I got it for 2550 from the same dealer from where u were sent your Sirac.
U missed out Prabhakar. He also has it.
The Sirac has got excellent corner grip. I was redlining in 2nd gear on a very tight corner, leaning, almost scraping my foot pegs & trust me there was not even slight wobble.

You would need a gripier front now to keep up with the grip levels of the sirac.
I just saw one 150 in my office with it!Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostI've seen a P150 and a RTR with Sirac here in hyd

Even the IRC I'm running up front is a lot more sticky than stock, it manages to keep up well with the increased grip from the rear!Originally posted by Samyaza View PostWith the R15 front you probably have the stickiest combination(ignoring the R15 rear for aesthetic reasons). But with the R15 front and the Sirac at the back, John's speedo will surely show about 147 or so

There is one sirac in my college on a zma. But it comes rarely. There are many many bikes with sirac in Hyd.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostI've seen a P150 and a RTR with Sirac here in hyd

Well i kept only for about 12hrs & ran about 60kms with it. Did not tune it. But yes the bike was on the leaner side. Could see it in the spark plugs easily.Originally posted by diehard View Posthey did u change the AFR if yes how much ?????? and i dont have a clamp for the k&n filter as in the fastener which seals the filter to the carb my friend missplaced it so wat do i do can i get another one ?? also is it easy to remove the airbox ???
You can buy that locking thing at any automobile shop. Just ask for a intake hose lock.
Yes its easy to remove the air box. You need to open the RH side rearset panel. Remove the battery. Remove the intake hose & a few other pipes connected to air box & pull it out slowly.
Iam dreaming of elbow cornering already on the P220.Originally posted by Samyaza View PostWith the R15 front you probably have the stickiest combination(ignoring the R15 rear for aesthetic reasons). Do give it a try around your favourite corner asap

The rates have shot up for the Sirac.Originally posted by prafultripathy View Post2.7K, well if it was available at the cost at which I bought it in I would have ridden down to Hyd to get it!

Yes i need a better front now. My present stock tyre isnt able to keep up with the sirac & can be felt easily under hard braking.
My bike already showed 146 on the speedo with stock gearing. It hit the rev-limiter on 5th gear twice on a downslope on NH7.
Problem:
Was your tyre touching the chain cover? Mine was slightly touching it so i removed the chain cover. No matter how much i adjust the chain its still the same. I guess some alignment problem. Can a unevenly worn chain cause this? Acid had spilled on my chain due to faulty battery. Or a improperly fit rear wheel bearings? Need help!

You and your speedo!Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostMy bike already showed 146 on the speedo with stock gearing. It hit the rev-limiter on 5th gear twice on a downslope on NH7.

Never got to go all out, but the best I managed was 141 with the WildFlare in the front which shows about 2-3kmph lesser than stock, so must have been about 143-144 on a stock front tyre. But I felt it could easily show about 145 on my speedo provided I weighed a few tonnes lesser and dint have my camera bag
Nope, never had this issue with tyre touching the guard at all. If the bearings are worn out your tyre would have had a wobble, put it on the centre stand check if there is a uneven rotation of the tyre.Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostProblem:

Even if the chain is worn unevenly it will not move in the left-right direction to touch the tyre, it would only more in a up-down direction!_________________________

I remember you upgraded your tyres. What is the exact size of the front and rear?Originally posted by ajinkya View Post^^^ my bike has been refusing to go above the 128 kmph mark for ages now
PS: Whats the update on the UNI? How many kms run with it? Whats the state of tune?Any difference in intake roar/performance?_________________________

A 120/90 means your bike is running taller geared and actually should hit higher topspeed. Plus I am not sure about the profile the FZ tyre forms , but I am guessing that it is lesser than stock that again should give you bloated speedo figures.Originally posted by ajinkya View Postwell ihave a 120/90 at the rear and the fz front tyre on the front.
she still accelerates well but is loosing the surge near the top end could it be tuning issue.
So going by these 128 means you really need to get your bike checked up.
Fuel/Air filters could be choked, and you need to check the state of tune after the UNI install. And then tune the bike accordingly.
Fi or Carb, tuning means the same thing only the procedures are different!Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostIt's a Fuel Injected bike, what is 'Tuning' means for it??

well actually the speedo undereads by 2 kmph on my bike due to the front tyre, i too feel that the tuning needs to be checked.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostA 120/90 means your bike is running taller geared and actually should hit higher topspeed. When one "tunes" a bike carb/Fi, they adjust the AFR. In carb its done via screws located on the carb and in a FI its done via the diagnostic tool.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostI still did'nt got your point.
What could one play with a FI bike, is it related to adjusting CO ratio.
I can't make it any simpler than this and still don't get what your confusion is
Then its forming a taller profile, even then your bike should do more. Even I have the 120/90 rear tyre and the bike manages 135+ with ease!Originally posted by ajinkya View Postwell actually the speedo undereads by 2 kmph on my bike due to the front tyre, i too feel that the tuning needs to be checked.Last edited by Praful; 03-03-2010, 06:53 PM._________________________
