Hi Sarvajit, Pardon my limited knowledge about engine tech specs, but my bike's done around 2700 and I'm not really sure if there is a "loose marbles" kind of sound produced from my engine as well. Now if I have to go ask a Yamaha tech sure he's Never gonna understand in his Wildest of dreams anything known as "Tappets". So, considering the same, would you please give me a general 'lingo' in which I can conversate with the yamatech and make him understand as to what is it i'm asking him to look for?

Ask them to adjust "tapit". They WILL understand, but may be reluctant to do the required adjustments!
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

As for Honda, the bike will cost less, but I can't wait till 2011.
Yep but one would be hard pressed to believe Yamaha never knew Bajaj had the Ninja ace up it's sleeve. I believe they will enter the 250cc space soon. They have too!

            • @All: In the wake of recent developments (the biggest one in my life), I think I need to take some time to consider the Ninja, whether I can afford it with the money I need to spend a few months from now. Waiting for the launch date hoping against hope for a low price.

@killerkp: Tell them to adjust the 'waal' (valves) gap!

              • Guys!
As you all know there are Seven diffrent R15 colours available.
The older colours had radiator mounted horn and some diffrence in radiator grill..
Now, I wanted to know that as the old colour bikes had been already made in yamaha factory in abudant amount during the launch of new colours so they were still in the market along with new colours.
But The old colours which are being produced now(after august 09) are having 09 engine (one installed in new colours) and new radiator grill with unmounted radiator horn or not??

Or old colours are stick stocked with older stuff??

P.S. Soon my Best Buddy is going to own the second red/maroon 'fifteen' in varanasi after me!!!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

There's hardly anything technical here, ever since the (now almost dead) R15 Garage Thread was opened..

Anyways, you're welcome.. & very nice shots there.. She looks as good as new, even after a year (lotsa make-up eh? )!

Well I was mostly a silent visitor of this thread and used it when ever I needed any help regarding my machine.. and hey I always got the required help from all the southern bike enthusiasts..

Bout the bike.. lol.. no make up shake up.. I used her mostly for touring purpose.. and a diesel wash(not the pressure wash, I clean her myself..) once a week kept her in this condition after close to 12000kms..

3 days back i booked my R15. I asked the salesperson at the showroom about the availability of the older colours. He said you have to order the old colour. Now a days, no one is going for the old ones.
I asked him. what will be the manufacturer date of the bike?
He said, you might get the bike from the old stock.

You better talk to the showroom's manager or the owner to shead more light...........
