What i did was put the same bolt back and tightened with hand and rode till the mechs place. It stayed good for those 4-5kms.Originally posted by muztariq View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Don't ride if you feel the nut can come off or it will leak out the oil fast. In emergency situations where you don't have time to pay attention to such things, its better to use a fine cloth, you can never go wrong with it. It tightens very well without leaving any space for oil to leak.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostWhat i did was put the same bolt back and tightened with hand and rode till the mechs place. I couldn't agree more.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostJust keep it till the chat with Vikram. I would suggest you not to get such things fitted as my friend had an extremely harrowing time with the BB kit from Race Concepts. Engine was blown. Or you can keep it till the FFE and air filter at the most, which will result in more sound and not any power at all. It will just give you "poser power".
Better gather some more gandhis and get a bigger bike. Always remember, there is no replacement for displacement (cc)
But I also believe
The question isn't about any person selling anything but it's more about the general awareness that needs to be there before trying hot rodding and the odds one has to go through to gain miniscule power from the machine.
The pros and cons - measure if its worth the risk and then decide.
Personally after a premature seizure of a bigbore kit on my bike I steered clear out of modifications.
But reality is once you get the taste of modifications, it is very difficult to go back to stock settings.
Still if needs to go through modifications then custom mapped cdi, universal filters, up jetting, ffe as options can be looked upon. But stay away from engine components like cylinder and piston
Regards and ride safe.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi Guys ! I'm having a 2013 FZ-S and am pretty happy with it so far
My query is about servicing. I have done 6 free + 1 paid service till now. Always it has been 70 days from previous service (I have never met the maximum kms for the corresponding service). Current ODO reading is around 6k KM. Should I continue the 70 days gap between services ? Between my 7th service and till now, I haven't used the bike as much as I regularly use. And anyway 70 days from 7th service got over a month back. Will it be a problem? I know it will void warranty but anyway Yamaha's warranty is nothing. So that doesn't matter much. Should I give my bike for service now ? Or can I wait for some more time as well? (Been 3 months from my 7th service)
Thanks in advance

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thank you all for the valuable suggestions.. After going through some of the threads as you guys mentioned, now I dropped the plan for modding the engine components.. I guess its kind of mind play at times that one will get tempted to those than valuing the pros and cons..@Jagan, @devils_friend, @Anand Roy, @SpeedyKol, @Krish2778
Yesterday I gave my bike for service at Sprint Yamaha, Mahadevapura.. Mentioned all the problems and asked them to check them thoroughly and to clean the carburetor.. Hoping my bike will be back with the good values again..
Once I confirm that my bike is cool as it was, then will go for an FFE and stock replacement filter.. Filters which need upjetting, I dont want to take chances.. So a big NOOO for it.. And guys please help me to choose between K & N and Simota stock replacement filters..
Thank you all again

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
If you want Yamaha to honour warranty claims, you may have to follow scheduled services, even when you haven't ridden much. Service intervals are a delicate balance between warranty, SVCs and different types of customer-base.Originally posted by Muthu Palaniappan View PostHi Guys ! Now, coming to service charges... this is where you need to concentrate and decide on what to get done.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Forget the warranty. The next time i am buying a new bike, i wont be purchasing an extended warranty. Anything that is fragile and has even slight chance of being damaged is not covered under warranty. Only the most indestructible parts are covered and even then its a coin toss whether the dealer will change a damaged part under warranty or notOriginally posted by Muthu Palaniappan View Postguys help me please !

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Not only extended warranty, even free services are a scam. I did only two services at svc and rest outside. The first service was some 450 rs. and they were not even changing the oil filter. It was such a bad experience that i took the bike for second service just to maintain warranty claim option for total five odd months. Once I got sure that there was no problem with the motorcycle, i went ahead with fully synthetic oil and forgot svc exists. Once i went to buy oil filter to three four svc and they didnt had a single oil filter. I am sure they were not changing oil filters while servicing.Originally posted by windrider007 View PostForget the warranty.
