Appreciate it. Not to beat a dead horse, but how is the fit, is it as OEM battery or is there slack/space in the cage.

Thank you so much, psr sir. AGM yes it is, I reckon there is a slight voltage difference from the standard to ABS models, mine is an ABS one. Any thoughts? I would love to get a higher amp battery, considering the ability it has to store more power, especially in Ooty. My common sense suggests that considering the voltage being the same 12V in both stock and the Amaron above, and a little higher voltage reading from the stator/RR there shouldn't be any charging problems per se.

But this one, charging system working over time, heating of RR, just in case, any thoughts, sir?

    Cheers!

I was considering buying a KTM Duke, but KTM's warranty isn't applicable for the second owner, decided to let it go.
I Changed my Horn Switch under warranty(I had bought a 1.2 yrs old bike then). Just give them the service booklet, do the invoice in the name of previous owner. But change to your Phone No. Problem solved. Dont tell them, bike has changed ownership. Dont show them the RC card. And legally warranty is void incase of change of ownership for any manufacturer. But there is always a loop hole.

Yeah, the issue isn't serious, the bike works totally fine, just that when this neutral light is not on when in neutral, sometimes the bike refuses to crank even with the clutch pulled in. And that means dhakka start, which I absolutely hate, so this weekend will sort it out.

I always idle the bike for about 1-1.5 min religiously, I only move the bike when one bar is seen on the temp gauge. I do not even blip the throttle during this time.

I think point 3 should be checked. battery might be getting weaker, bike was lying unused for quite some months and now its having daily night rides too, so will get the battery checked, the bike is getting almost 2 years old. But all other electrical like horn and lights show no sign of power loss.

Btw, the 3k idle rpm is only during the morning startups and that too not a regular phenomenon, on any other normal day it idles at a tad above 1.5k, hot engine idle is about 1.5k rpm and is stable,

Yes, you see i did have the same hunch, i guess the neutral switch not working is playing havoc here too. Since the bike is on and the neutral switch is off it might be sending across the signal that the bike is moving and thus the ECU(ECU controls the idle rpm limit , correct ?) might be raising the idle RPM to 3k.

Let see if it happens once the neutral light issue is sorted out.

      Cheers

The neutral not engaging issue I had faced in the past. It stayed for 1 month or so. But my bike was cranking with clutch. So I had no problem. The problem disappeared miraculously and never came back. And My battery was changed after 2.5 years, when it suddenly died without any warning. Well, the Horn and Lights were functioning as usual.

The stock CBR comes with Exide ETZ 7 VRLA...same as in ZMA/ZMR and is 6 amps....Some have used the KTM battery which is 8 Amps...This Amaron battery is 9 Amps and AGM technology. AGM gives lesser CCA ie., Cold Cranking Amps, but can survive even when the battery terminal voltage goes below 10 volts . which is not the case with the Normal Wet type batteries. The CBR Generator is rated at 340 watts @ 5.000 RPM. ie., roughly 28 Amps at 12 Volts(approx)..
So just like in ZMA/ZMR the battery helps in Self Start and in smoothing out the RR output ripples...otherwise the battery is not stressed. ...this is the case for most modern DC system bikes.
The AGM tech in Automotive battery esp., Two Wheeler segment ,is a recent intro by Amaron ...

It fits quite perfectly. Dimensions are well matched with the compartment with very little room for the battery to move around.

PSR ji, AGM was mentioned on the case too along with a numeric code which I assume should give the figures you quoted.

So just in case, if folks want to know what battery is, it code named APBTZ-7L 12V 9Ah battery, AGM Amaron. And thanks so much for psr sir for uncluttering my doubts, both on and offline.

The Amaron battery for the CBR250R is a 7A sealed type. It costs Rs. 1590. This is a direct fit in the battery cage unlike the 9AH Amaron battery which is much wider, and you would need to break the plastic holder to fit it in.

I have noticed that there is quite a rough sound in the bike when I ride it at low speeds. Initially thought I needed to get the chain lubed but doing the same has had no effect. The sound goes away once I reach a decent speed around 40. What could be causing this?

Purchased a month and a half ago. I followed sane riding for the run in, didnt limit to very low speeds but kept it below 6k rpm with a few dashes upto 7k. I get the feeling that the sound originates from the chain itself but there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it

The Picture as well fitting in CBR 250 R just confirms that the Battery is a 7 AH AGM battery.. Aamaron was not manufacturing this and even when I changed my ZMA battery about 10 months back the Distributor said only 9 AH manufactured......So it is now clear that the 7 AH is now manufactured by Aamron in AGM configuration...

Thanks for a Good Useful Information for all CBR 250 Owners...

Since you have already used CBR, new one (if at all) won't be much of an upgrade. You can go for Z250.

Any reason about frequent changes in bike?

The models I've ridden here, all have some whizzing chain noise to them, all seem to be little off slack, perhaps it is that way they were set at factory level. Get your chain lubed, and adjusted and see how it fares.

I was waiting for more than two months, in the hopes of getting the updated CBR250R or the CBR300R. Calls upon calls to the service manager here, didn't yield anything positive. Top it up, I've always loved a red CBR, though booking was still open, and they promised me a red one in about 25 days it was well over two months, waiting for red. They have no clue as to whether the bike was currently being manufactured or not, shot a mail to Honda and got a reply clearly stating "CBR250 is manufactured and sold in "certain" markets, now I didn't know what that "certain" in their mail meant, and they didn't even care to answer my primary question, of any updates in the pipeline for the CBR. All they stated plainly and simply, stating, CBR 250R can be booked and the production is still ongoing.

I went ahead and got myself a black CBR250R, and it's great to know the waiting period was worth the downtime, considering all the petty issues were taken care of in these newer models. So far so good, and it's something I've always wanted.

For now it's a vaporware. I'd suggest you give it just some more time, and hold on to it, just two months, I am sure something out or the others should come out from Honda!

                              Cheers!

I was in the same situation after booking cbr250r at my native. I too made calls to honda and they said production is still going on. i waited, but last week dealer said 2015 manufactured bike will be further delayed ( i asked for 2015 made one). so I called up a dealer in Bangalore and they said they have black abs model which is 2015 made just arrived 5 days back. I went showroom and verified it from frame number (9th and 10th letters are B and F- so its February 2015). and it was a black abs model which I wanted too. so locked it by paying 1Lac on the spot and cancelled old booking from native. I will take the delivery by next week.
