I had checked with my mech, and he says availability of reliable spares is absent and he is hard pressed for time, and cannot keep a vehicle pending for days on end..Hence he says he may not be able to take up not just Fiero but any older version bike for repair.
Sorry I am not able to help you in this

            • @ Sarvajit

              Bought the P135 switches today.
I have an exam on 22nd so my visit to the mech is postponed till that date.
Once there, I'll get it installed.

It cost me around 1130 bucks for both.

Quality-wise they are Better than every BAJAJ switches ever, but not better than the fiero ones.
Its okay, provided it has a backlight, and a 3 step headlight switch (which i need the most ).

Besides, the bothering thing for me is, that handle slot on both the sides on each switch doesn't seem to be same.
It seems like the mounting hole of the outer end of both the switches is wider than the inner one.
Gives a feeling as if the handle is Conical in shape, getting wider on the ends (could be possible as they are Clip-ons).
I did check with a bike under my building, but couldn't make out.

I'll upload the pics if you need.

              I hope i didn't confuse you.

That's cool buddy, I will be waiting for you to get them fitted.
You didn't confuse me, I understood about the width part. Let's see, even if it has a slight gap it should not matter much (provided it has 2 parts-upper&lower like all other bikes)
Also please let me know whether for my bike the choke can be directly fitted onto the carb, like in your bike.
If both these are satisfied, I will buy them too asap.

Edit: Rode the bike today for around 50-60kms. The worn out camchain has reduced smoothness. I can hear grinding noises.
But that is not my concern.

The tacho needle, which used to dance at around 6.5K RPM earlier, has started doing that at 4.5K RPM upwards now. Anyone else facing this? What can be the reason for this?

                  • Guys ,i had previously used MOTUL 3000T mineral oil and it was damn good.Yesterday i saw Abhilashabhi's bike which is on the MOTUL 3000 4T PLUS 20W40 ,i noticed the bike is damn refined too! and he was good enough to get me a liter of the same oil in the 15w50 grade. The thing about this oil is that it's API SM and JASO MA2 rated .So it would be a good oil to use on our bikes .

Yeah ,sticking with MOTUL or YAMALUBE is the best bet for our rides.

From what you are saying ,the roughness could be because of the thin grade oil it's on,or it's the cam chain more likely. The bike struggling to rev is a clear indication of the cam chain prob,as it's already established that the cam chain is a goner.

Yeah bro,i've used the 300v FS a couple of times too and the YAMALUBE SS as you know, which is nothing but bottled MOTUL with small changes to the formulation.
Why i recommended YAMALUBE ,is because they match the grade with the ones recommended for our rides and they are used on SBK's of theirs too in india. It's the same with MOTUL too.

Buddy, you are right about the camchain, but I'm asking about the tacho needle dancing&showing wrong RPMs!
What do you have to say about that?

I am doing MCA II year now, my dad bought me this second-hand Suzuki Fiero(2000 model) during my 10th standard(2003)...I still love it very much, especially the Engine, Power delivery and the thumpy exhaust note.
