i told the SC 2 times and both times they told tat its some valve/tappet problem and they've cleared it.BUT ITS STILL THERE.
So its safe to assume that almost everyone is having that problem, last day i went to service centre just to clarify about the tappeting sound. He said it caused by loosening of screws in Tappett. How many distance did you clock on ODO?

    • I think there is a way to Solve the Tappet Sound i think that is in Pulsar as Well. Anup i will be going for a long test ride for sure since I couldn't get to all 6 Didn't have much distance.

Now What can i say the Executive was going gaga over the bike so i made a move to get inside the pit. Any way It is nothing to do with the Finance since the Dealer get's in Full but He quoted 1k etc and i told what are you giving he told don't worry about that we can work it out.

But Engine sound was good the best thing i couldn't hear any . Now i don't know why i didn't Find the bike Heavy at all Even while Cornering Don't know why maybe that i drive a Scooter probably. I Pressed the Horn And it was very good.

Now regarding Mileage quoted he was all praises telling me 60+ i told Quit Telling Lies and tell me the right one but by this time the owner came after seeing my Eterno which i asked for valuation for exchange he told 55+.

The only problem with Suzuki Service center though not far but still Honda service 10 Min away and suzuki is 40-45min away.

I asked him about the Rusting and inconsistent mileage for the former he told everything is resolved for latter i told him my friend has it and he is not getting more than 50 he told may be driving style and told even i have this bike and drive at Highway and Told me he Did 140Km/h. I told him Got You There lol

140 Quit Kidding me and i will meet you next time get your facts right and if you want to get a deal done quickly get a good deal for me not paying more than 61 K with Teflon Coating and Accessories(He told Come after you test ride Dazzler we will make sure u are satisfied i thought i quoted a little higher than he expected :P)

p.s after reading some Posts above even i am worried about the Engine getting heated up since i am i must say more intended to get Gs and my Father Honda

      • That was hilarious, never trust the dealer go to the service centre and ask the service engineer, he will be more trustworthy that those dealers.

On my running in period(before first service) i used to get 60+ mileages and will you believe if i said on one night trip i got more than 70 on highway keeping the speed in between 50 and 60.

But top speed of 140 is total blunder, I think 115 kmph is verified one but even though speedo showed it, actually it was only 108kmph.

        • Anup thanx for the Break in engine but really not confident of trying it though it is sensible but it requires us to do atleast above 90Km/h For the Street break in yow will not find space to do that in Indian Roads for sure no matter what and driving in a Highway or expressway is useless since the Break in need acceleration and deceleration like short bursts. Though i like to stick the Recommended way and Stick to the Huge line of engineers than 1 guy.

p.s Anup how much mileage you are getting after 1st service. I have only 1 issue with GS some Issues stated above

            • Top speed 140 is possible but not on road only on stand aka center stand [speedo reads from back wheel rotation]

so their is no friction no wonder even if it reaches 160

I think you misunderstood the break in process, the author at that link was mentioning about superbikes which will attain around 100 km even on first gear but ours is different na, so short burst of high revving in lower gears can be achieved in speeds @ 60 in second and third gear.

Till the first service i was riding in economy mode, shifting gears at 4.5K mark and was getting mileages which will enviable to any 150cc rider, 55 - 60 and occassional 60+ mileages. After second service it dropped to 50-55 mainly because of the riding habbits and now as its getting closer to 3rd service mileage has again lowered to 45-50 (I always ride with pillion and so hiked every mileage reported to 10%).

So i know GS is capable of giving good averages, this time i took my talking to service engineer every small of the details i think they will rectify all those and give a flawless bike.

That's a decent riding 1000 km per month. Thank god the accident gave few dents to your ride and not you. Your ride protected you, its time for you to prove your loyality by fixing her.

Well said, remember there was one fake video saying 0-133 kmph on a GS. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/405635-post4364.html

I dont think its a tappet noise.. anyway, thats the same explanation my SC gives,
Some local mechanics told my friend it could be the crank bearing..
Now i have no idea what a crank bearing is, so i cant comment

And so far the only known solution is changing the piston and bore.. (not sure whether bore refers to whole engine or only top part of engine, the cylinder )

Hope your bike gets well soon bro. lucky you didnt get injured much in the accident. when i saw pics of the bike i was like

How do you solve the tappet noise in pulsars, guess its worth trying out on GS too

Btw, i think 60 mileage is possible in GS, some guy in my SC uses the bike to travel b'lore mysore only (100% highway riding). supposedly he gets 60-65 mileage.. even i was surprised when i heard this..

I get 55kmpl if i use shell petrol and ride sanely not crossing 5k and accelerating slowly.(with 100% city riding) and 52 with rash riding.

But With other petrols(BP,IBP,HP) its always 48-50 even if i ride slowly.
                      and 45-46 with rash riding.

                      • Ok thefalcon i think there is a thread to solve the tappet noise for pulsars in xbhp check it out.

Now here comes some info on my above Test ride when the Showroom quoted 1000Rs etc. Now I am someone who goes by the rule book so i actually complained through Suzuki Website that the Dealer is quoting Higher Price and Today got a call from a suzuki Representative And He told me No price has been revised and Rs 1000 the Dealer is charging as compulsory accessories.

So he told i will call up the showroom as a customer and ask the price and he will call me back after 5 minutes and he did call me back and stated a higher price is being charged and the dealer has been told about this.
Also i told him couldn't get a long test drive hardly 400 mts he told don't worry about that whenever you go to the showroom just call me(gave his mobile number). Also i raised some issues you guys are having like the Engine harshness and other issues like Rusting and Mileage he told Just come to the service center we will give you a full Showcasing on the mileage front and also the Person who talked to me told me he will be present when I want the test ride from the showroom and i can have a long test ride

Overall atleast Pre-Sales Support is good atleast directly from Suzuki. Any more issues people want to ask can tell me i will.

i got a call from Suzuki, they have called me to ask me further details about rust on inside tank,
also they said that they are going to conduct a service camp at Anderi Laxmi Bikes on 9th and 10th June.
even they are going to conduct service camp at Malad too.

finished 6th service ,Mechanic told me he adjusted the valves ,told me to test drive , it was smooth no tic tic sound that time ,he told to inform me next day after running bike for some KM.
The sound came again after i went to near by town and back (25km),Here the interesting thing is he is the one worked in bajaj when i have Pulsar,he adjusted the vavle noise in my pulsar when i reported on 5500km its fine and the the bike is smooth after that. But pulsar valve noise is heard in different sound.Thats why i called him today and tell the sound coming again. He told me to check other GSR (which come for service) when i visit Show room and report again and he told 100% sure its not crank bearing sound..
I copied ur quote and pasted in suzuki website and write some of the GSR owners include me have a small problem pls arrange the SC to solve that problem...

he bro me too 10500km 1 year old tappet noise coming....whats ur mileage then? did u test drive any other GS in ur city? I did and no sound absolute smooth ...then only realized my bike engine is rough.
interesting fact is those having rough engine have milage 50 to 55 and those have smooth engine have more than 55+ mileage..
in my old pulsar the mileage drop to 4 to 5 km per ltr after adjusting tappet, it increased to 55kmpl
