If you have any one in Mumbai region pls let me know too , some person ria suzuki in airoli NM claim to have source who can convert GS to full DC efficiently but only after official warranty is over, your bike seems to run a little as 13k is low figure for 10th service , mine covered 16K just finished 8th free service, parts changed@ last service were spark plug(though my old and stalk plug is still in very good condition) and air filter , do we have to open up wheel completly to grease the bearings in the wheels , unlike 4 wheelers
      What milege you get

Last sunday i met one local old guy riding GS blue color completing 1.05 lacs kms , he was enthuiastic about the bike covering huge distances regularly (190kms regularly even holidays) apart from little glitches during initial days and some puntures ,reported no issues about expenses being a carefull rider , amazing.

        • Disappointing Moment at Suzuki Dealership in Bangalore

I would like to share a very disappointing moment which happened today at Aryan Motors, KR Puram, Bangalore. Today (9th Oct 2012) was the promised delivery date for my brand new Suzuki GS 150 R. I was shocked to see the state of vehicle which was ready for delivery. The vehicle was having full of scratches all over the bike. Also a part of the Petrol Tank was repainted.
This was supposed to be a new bike and was completely disappointed with the vehicle. This has brought up many questions to my mind as a new customer to Suzuki Motorcycles.

 Is the quality which Suzuki is promising Indian Customers?
 Was any kind of Pre Delivery Inspection done?
 How dare you can insist the customer to take home a faulty product?

          • well done KinZ,

thats due to the negligence of the dealer and their money minded attitude, and of-course Suzuki should take the blamed for not strict with the dealers.

when it comes to sales or service complaints suzuki is always a reacting company rather than being proactive.

                • Hello Friends. Logging to Xbhp after a long time. A lot of changes with Xbhp.

I have suggested GS for My friend and he promised that he is booking it in a weeks time. He is satisfied with the ride quality and mileage.

                  My questions are,

                  1) On Road price is 76500 in SMK, Chennai when i asked a quotation today. I got a quotation for another friend 40 days back around 74. Is there any increase in price withing these time period.

                  2) What is the average City mileage of 2012 model. I am having a 2011 model and getting constant 58. My friend is expecting the same.
I heard of Gear ratios change in the newer version. Will that affect the mileage by any chance ?

The main deference in gear ratio is that the rear sprocket now is with 42 teeth instead of the former 41, which slightly increases the pickup and decreases the speed. But it is not at all noticeable and does not make difference in FE if sanely ridden and well maintained and is not unnecessarily modified or tuned.
You can guarantee him almost the same FE you get on your bike.

Spares are also gone up a bit,but marginal. I'm driving the GS (current version) for about 11months, it's consistently giving around 55kmpl.
If ridden sanely and accelerated gradually, then FE will not be a problem.

Also, check it in ABT - Nandanam, JAV Suzuki - Adyar & Jains Suzuki - Pallavaram and try to get any cash discounts. Dont take accessories like Handle Grips, tank cover or seat cover.

PS: My recent FE update, 798kms for 14.82lts of Fuel. Mostly in highways and mostly at 6 to 6.5k rpm. Very satisfacory FE w.r.t the speed.

As mentioned in the link, mileage doesnt vary with full tank. In my opinion, filling 10 litres and checking reserve to reserve is the best method, since, even if the false reserve makes a 5km plus or minus, still the mileage will vary max by 0.5km and you get accurate reading.

I got for 10 litres 560km with speedy driving. Means I get 56km per litre. This is the best method of testing mileage

                          • Guys, there has been some sort of problem with the mileage of the bike, I was constantly getting Mileage of 40 kmpl for quite a long time, but suddenly the mileage dropped insanely to 30kmpl, any guess what the problem might be?
I drive the bike at 50kmph to 80kmph these days, and this is the same driving speed I've been riding for last few months.

Did you ever adjust the air fuel mixture?

Nopes, never adjusted anything except for the rear suspension, but thats when I bought the bike and rest of the settings are all the same.
Got your PM as well, thanks for the tips buddy, and about the oil, I am currently using the one that service center gives(Castrol), though there was a slight problem earlier, my clutch wire just broke all of a sudden, about 15 days ago, and then had to go for some emergency repairs, rest all is what service center does to my bike.
Right now I think may be clutch wire would have been tightened too much be the SC guys which might cause my bike to go with half clutch pulled for quite some time. Will check that as well in the morning.
