Replacing the 4 rubber mounted visor nuts will solve this problem. The mechanics may not have replaced it, either due to ignorance or unavailability. These nuts are not reusable as they deform in the first use due to shrinkage. It costs Rs. 10/- per piece.

You may perhaps have to readjust the screws for few more times.

There is nothing special with Pulsar nuts except that they are a little shorter and weaker. Someone approaching the GS dealer or sub-dealer was asked to buy Pulsar nuts because the original was not available in their SC. All Pulsars have more vibration than GS.

If you try, you can replace the nuts yourself. It is better to not depend the mechanics in simple matters.

New bike from suzuki ?

Is their a new 150cc bike coming from suzuki this year??? OR changes being made to 2011 version of GS

I was thinking of buying GS this jan but this news is just a buzz kill.

PLEASE HELP if anyone knows anything

More than 11 months are left in this year. So, no one will be able to predict it. There are rumours about new bikes but some of them are not even produced.

As per Hindu belief, Kaliyuga ends in 2013. The ancient Mayan calendar too ends in the same year. But who can tell us exactly whether there will be a great flood in 2013 as per the Hindu belief, which will destroy the whole world or not?

If any significant change is made to the present version of GS, you can demand the replacement of that part.

If you are not buying the bike for experiments, the present version will be enough.

P S. I am not an employee of Suzuki or any other private or public sector company.

Hi guys, writing after long time since my exams were going on, again got some trouble with the bike, I usually ride the bike at 120 while going to college(its all a highway road) but yesterday, while I was driving like that, somehow the bike started losing power, I mean, I was at 120 in 6th gear, then the speed started dropping slowly and dropped to 90 even though the throttle was fully opened, I couldn't get the bike over 100 during that run even after shifting from 6th to 5th and even 4th, and when I parked the bike, I smelled something had burnt, but I went to the class, and on the return journey, it was back to normal and was hitting 120 with ease, I want to know what sort of problem is this? Is this a common one(which I don't think as its never been discussed)? or is my bike's engine is about to die ??
Also there happens to be sudden drop of mileage from 42kmpl at 120kmph speed to about 35kmpl at the same speed driving....

My earlier bike was a bit slow, topped at 100kmph but was able to give constant mileage of 65kmpl with my driving......

Now the rumours are international rumours speculated worldwide with few leaked information here and there and a concept or two exhibited in different nations........so if any model is not in production now,well then........it would start soon.

Vishnukmd.........if we really can trust each other......we would make great friends.......you sometimes pull up topics over which I cannot control myself to go on a discussion,but Xbhp is only limited to Biking

Since its a second hand bike............we do not know how it had been run-in.
Had you checked the piston for any discrepancies???? Or the valve ports for carbon deposits ???? or the slack of the timing chain ???? or if the spark plug has been fouled or not ???

Next,Gagan it would be really helpful for me to analyse and point to the correct problem if you can report the RPM reading when the speed of your bike dropped slowly with your throttle fully opened.

Gagan, the situation was quite similar in my case.
I used to zip the bike, changing gears above 6K RPM. Then the mileage was 40-45 kmpl. When I refrained myself and began riding as if the bike is in run-in period (gear shift @ 4-4.5k and speed below 60kmph) my GS rewarded me with mileage around 60..

This had not lowered the enjoyment of riding a bit. I am constantly maintaining speed of around 50 kmph using minimum braking even in tight situations and gliding past other bikers enjoying the pleasure of counter steering.

Regarding the smell you mentioned, I cannot pinpoint the exact reason. Check the rubber tubes below the petrol tank that may come in touch with the engine and look whether they have burned.

O.T....Mayan Calendar ends 2012.
Kaliyuga is supposed to be 4,32,000 years , and started in 3K BC.
Kaliyuga is the shortest of Yugas.

Just got my bike after fourth service, again it has become smooth.

I was going at 70 speed today at outer ring road putting behind everyone but to my surprise a unicorn went vroooom very very silently. Unicorn is a very silent bike with great pick up.....the pick up of our GS is very bad which i notice everyday.
