              • Hi All,

I have booked my GS in White, probably getting it in 4 - 5 days.
Just wanted some advice from experts on things to watch out for when accepting delivery, things to check in the new bike, also about any imp thing which is need to remember special with Gs.

                • Hi guys,
I got my pearl white GS on 20th Nov....just wanted to clarify a thing from you all..when i bought the bike, initially i had filled up 4lts of petrol..it has only covered 50kms and the last bar is blinking which according to the manual is about 1.5lts left...and it started blinking from 40kms..i guess..Is it normal for a brand new bike? Looks like its too thirsty.......thanks in advance for all your replies.....and experiences if any...cheers

Yes that happens. Since you have actually less fuel, the reserve is generally not considered and the digital meter works effectively above 3lt in tank and anything below 3 like even 2.6lt it starts blinking. i have seen that happen in pulsars too..
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

That's normal for all bikes with digital fuel indicators because the sensors are not very accurate. Just use the odometer to see the distance covered and refuel after you think it has covered the expected mileage or until you feel knocking.
In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

Thanks Vikhyath for taking out time to reply...when do you think I should refuel the bike considering it had 4lts initially and it ran a mere 50kms and considering the fact that its new...coz i dont want to get stalled in the middle of the road......

My thanks to Prajnyan as well....

Dont consider the TIK TIK TIK sound ...
no its not tik tik but it is engine firing noise. Usually our GS has very less engine sound.. But it seems when it had travelled continuously 10 - 12 km the sound of engine increases though bike still remains smooth.

I believe this is normal though i will discuss this with svc guys during my 1st service.

Today I travelled 100 kms ( to and fro from kalyan through Mumbai Nashik highway, 650 completed on ODO) restricted myself below 5000 rpm but on one or two occassion took it to 6000 rpm though for a very brief interval. Waiting eagerly for 1st servicing to be done . Enjoying the smoothness of GS on highways, very difficult to keep it under 65 kmph.

A wise decision.. And before reaching the SVC for 1st service, ride your bike for some 10kms or more.. So that the engine will be hot and it'll be easier for them to understand your query..

Today is the 1st time I've ripped my bike upto 80 with quick acceleration and decelaration...
My GS potentials are revealed., and it has it's other face beautifully too... Good enough power to rule the road., Not always & everywhere but atleast the road I rode today.
                              Best Regards,
