I hope I can get that much confident with my ride too after swapping the tyres. The stock scared me after riding on wet surfaces, anyways Congratulations on the purchase & thanks for sharing information about it.tc

How come the MRF front is so expensive..? Michelin Pilot Sporty 90/90 17" is just some 1600 & rear 120/80 17 " is some 2200 or 2300, that too without bargaining...

No idea!!! Michelin was quoted at 2650 to me. And no doubt its a very good tyre but was not matching my requirements.

hi all..recently my battery is gone kaput i guess...the self start doesnt work..when I press the switch the speedometer restarts as if it lacks power.
The headlamps used to get dim whenever I press brakes..Other than that there was no issues at all.. So two days back I gave for recharging.
After that everything is fine except this self start...When I asked the mechanic he is saying the battery is gone & needs to be changed..
I felt really bad..shouldnt have given for recharging..

Anyway the battery has crossed 3 years. Its the stock Exide battery...
Well Im planning to change to dry batteries of amaron. I heard they are maintenance free.
Anybody here tried the same. Also what should be the max power output of the battery I should look for?

I am using Amaron Pro Biker Rider battery (AP-ATX9), 9ampere. No issues yet after almost 6months of usage.

@Tribals : Might go to hills this weekend (fingers crossed). If everything goes as planned, will come back with loads of pictures for you all.

Hi Susheel.. The battery has gone kaput, I faced the same issue and recharging will only help when the charging circuit on the bike has a problem. Mine lasted only two years btw

You can go for Amaron, I have it, its maintenance free so no need for distilled water. The one I have is 2 years warranty and the next two years you get so % discount if you change your battery but they claim 4 years warranty

Go for the stock rating battery, 12V - 9Ah. Do remember you get some 100-200 bucks for the older battery so dont forget to ask it

Thanks a lot for the info yaar.
Actually when i googled i found two types, one alpha series which says 60months warranty (2035/-), other one beta series which is less cost(1691/-) which says 48 months.
Which do you think is better? Also when in future when I go for HID/Angel Eye/Projectors setup will the power output matters. I mean currently stocks are 12V 9Amps stuff. So if I go for the above mods do I need to increase that output power. If thats the case then i will have to change the battery at that point again. Right?
Sorry if its a stupid question..Im kind off noob in this...

@susheelkumar : If you go for HID/Projector, even if you use bigger battery, it wont be of any use, In that case you need to convert it into complete DC setup. Then only you can use the stock battery. For more info please search xBhp forum regarding AC to DC conversion.

Hi guys.. I am yet here with another question. What should be the idle rpm and fuel nut settings for apache?

I was facing problem in traffic, the bike used to halt on 1st gear as its idle rpm used to drop below 1k, went to tvs guys today and they made the condition even worse. Even thou they increased the idle rpm now the bike couldn't pickup properly from 1st gear unless i throttle hard.

Any thoughts on the settings please.

Hey,The Idle rpm must be around 1000 rpm..
The A/F screw must be adjusted by listening, feeling & experiencing the acceleration , it cannot be done by some fixed standards.. If your spark plug is very old it makes the throttle & idle rpm very uneven, change it if need be.. Get the carb. tuned by a experienced local mech.

PS;-I'v never heard any owner complaining that the svc guys have actually solved any problem..

vivekgautams has already given some inputs. On top of that also check your battery. If the battery is weak then the idle rpm will come down.
At that time if you give to SVC, they will increase the idling and later it will be another headache for you.
BTW the idling is between 1~1.5k. So before you tweak the AFR make sure your battery, Spark plugs are all good & running fine.

IMPORTANT :

Guys found out this link (Service Manual and Parts Manual for TVS Apache RTR |Life On 2-Wheels) which has almost all the parts number of RTR .
And this link (https://www.zauba.com/export-SPARE+P...4-hs-code.html) to find out the price asscoiated with it. Although you need to tinker around on all the pages and use Ctrl + F to find out the respective number.

I dont know how accurate it is but just used this to find the front brake caliper's cost and it helped.

Hope it will help you all in some or other way.

My rear suspension is in the softest setting.Replaced fork oils before 5k.
How to improve the ride quality of RTR 180?Its really tiring to ride on uneven roads.I tend to ride slower than I would on my splendor on RTR due to lack of comfort.
