  • Guys, I came across this energizer additive called Nano Energizer. Anyone used it before? They have a 'smaller engine' additive too. People who have used it before seems to be happy with it. Noise seems to reduce and they say mileage also increases by some 5-8%. You think it's worth spending 650 INR on? They say this product lasts upto 50K KMs.

Need some insight into this as I would like to try it out.

It depends on the tyre profile. If you use a bigger tyre, the total diameter of tyre increases thus making the gearing slightly tall, which results in minor drop in pickup but higher speed at each rpm, which wont even be noticeable.

I would not recommend 15T unless you are willing to sacrifice acceleration. It mainly helps for highway touring since the bike is more relaxed.

I have recently bought it (my post is in previous page) and generally it lasts for 15k kms but it depends on the riding style, road conditions etc I bought it for 2600/-

With 15T, the drop in acceleration is clear. But mine is not a regular RTR180 (Check the link in my signature for more details)
So I dont really mind the drop. RTR160 has a 13T front sprocket, if you want 15T go for Bajaj P180's front. You will also have to get the holder plate and the bolts.

            • @Adarsh bro, is the MRF Zapper Vyde a direct fit? The MRF Showroom guy says that the tyre will touch the chain guard or the swingarm. So I'm a bit confused now.

The MRF Showroom is Om Tyres, next to Bridgestone TVS, Rajajinagar.

Its a direct fit for RTR180 (Even a 130/70 is a direct fit!) , but chain cover should be removed for 160. Even the showroom guys said the same to me but I already knew 5-6 guys who had Vyde so I just bought it

Yes, I told him that I know 4-5 guys who use the same tyre on their RTR's, he was like, "sir, do you know more than us? We deal with tyres everyday and are you telling me which fits and which doesn't? Hehe"
I was like ok sir, namaskara. :P

                    • Went to Tristar today, to get chain tightened. After tightening the chain the bike is very rough(lot of vibrations and once you rip brakes won't help, is this due to more accelaration) and the gear shifts too are very hard. how does the chain have to do something with it?
Is it mandatory to replace the sporkects if they are worn out. I don't have money till next three months if I don't replace the sprockets would this lead to any other seroius problems?

                      • Rough engine & Noisy Chain ... though don't think anything more can happen due to sprocket

Lol Dont listen to them.. If they are not willing to fit it, just buy the tyre and get it fitted somewhere else.. and dont pay a penny more than 2600/- I had multiple quotes at different stores ranging till 4k!!

I guess they tightened it more than necessary. How many kms has the chain/sprocket kit done?? As it crosses 15k kms, it is advisable to set the chains slightly on the looser side (around 0.5cm more slack) so that the tension in the chain is reduced. If the chain condition looks bad, then try to shell out some money & get the new one ASAP, because the damage a broken chain can do when you are riding can be severe!! And when you replace sprockets, replace the entire set (chain and both sprockets).

In case of 160, should the chain cover be removed for 130 or 120 size tyre? Not planning to fit such a phat tyre or anything, just curious
