The min thickness of disc will be written on it like 3mm to 4mm ,take a screw guage or a scale atleast and measure the thickness and decide whether it is time for change.Mine is doing 20k and running fine.

Thanks for explaining the whole purpose of SAI unit. Could not understand the whole part as me being a noob on motorcycle technical stuff. But happy for the little i've learned.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Check the oil viscosity, change if it is time Try using Shell ax7

Thats engine braking only. Anytime when the speed reduces because of engine, its engine braking. Even in the case mentioned by you, when you shift to the lower gear, the revvs set in quite high for the gear you get to. So, as the throttle is not open, the engine tends to go towards its idle revvs and and the same principle of engine braking applies. Hope its clear now. But do not do that unnecessarily because if the revvs set in too high for the smaller gear, you're redlining the engine in a more harsher way. And I guess you know the effects redlining engine too often.

Not change it. The suspensions cone with a lever to change from hard to soft n vice versa. That one.

Shaby, I'm not having a problem. I wanna know if anyone tried to change those settings bro. I wanna know if it effects cornering and stability.

                      • Yes obviously it will, keeping soft will make it incline or dive early, quickly to the ground while cornering ...
                        hard results in drifting ;.....

So basically, it's to help with cornering.. Does making it hard increase straight line stability?
I also wanted at ask, during break in, does one have to maintain <4k rpm all the time? Won't opening the throttle and raising the revs to say 5k help mate the parts better? I was just reading up on motoman break in. Seems like a fool thing to do, but does make sense.

I do not mean that we should keep the bike going at high rpms, just once in a while to get better speed variations and mating of parts.

Madhav please refrain from making back to back posts.

During Run-In/ Break-In, you should definitely try those variations in RPM. At the same time, don't let the engine jerk because of higher gear/very low RPM for a particular gear. It can be very fatal and AVOID it in a NEW engine. Ensure that you gradually increase the level of each and everything you do.
And one or two occasional bursts upto 70kmph [or around 6.5-7k RPM in fifth gear] will actually do you more good.

And yes, maintaining 4k RPM is just a thumb rule, the underlying point is NOT to STRESS the infant engine and to allow and let the proper MATING of piston, cylinder and other moving parts. Its therefore advisable to do a LOT of gear variations in the RUN-IN period. It will decrease the mileage. But once proper RUN-IN is completed [It will take around 5000 kms for the engine to be properly set] you will start reaping the benefits
It's not about the RIDE. It's about HOW YOU ride :]
