Better to spray and then clean the visible rust with a cloth.
No issue in this process I guess.

Even I'm tired of this thing buddy in Mumbai.
Being new last year I had to pay 100rs for diesel wash (New to me in my lifetime till I came Mumbai)
and washing bike each week to get it clean & safe from rush but no matter how much you clean.
All it takes is 2 min. of rain :/

I guess we to have find some alternative for this.
Or we can add diesel ourself during washing also.
whymail
Anything from your experience here ?
How to save bike from Rush ?

Even I'd never seen my bike rusting but Mumbai mein dekh lia !

Sird : dunno abt others but I get a Teflon coat for external panels done @ the service. I also apply the antirust solution on all parts that appear to be made of shiny steel / chrome plated viz exhaust, handlebars, leg guards, all the nuts n bolts that are exposed, etc. (i use the dark brown colored one - u get 2 variations) before the rains begin n allow it to dry for 30 mins. Yes, this makes the bike look ugly but that's the only way to keep it free of rust. One application lasts usually for 3 months. Once the monsoons are over (September) I use a glass of petrol & an old tooth brush to clean out the antitrust solution. Bajaj service also does an antirust treatment by applying a transparent silicon gel (which lasts for a few weeks... not as effective as the antirust solution). Washing the engine bay, underbody etc thoroughly every 2 days also helps. Safer approach... I don't ride in rains ;-)

Oh hell yea. I've seen those brownish coating in bullet, avenger, and many bikes.
And I thought its some premanent thing.

i dont think that brownish coating is advisable, keep away is what many ppl have been telling...some ppl suggest that we mix half a litre diesel, half a litre 2T oil and spray it all over, unsure how safe or effective this is but most bullet users recommend this...

HI Frds,

I need some good advice again.

Currently i am having Yahama SZR (which is only 9 month old) , though i am never happy with the mileage part its hover around 40kmpl. So, I was thinking if somehow I will be getting mileage around 40kmpl.. why dont I will move to some bigger bike like pulsar 220 (not 200ns - as i dont like the shape i am big fan of semi fairing).

So, please advice. budget is around 1 lacs which may be extended only upto 1.10 lacs... I will be using this 80% for highway or weekend drive with my wife as i am now having CNG fitted Car with me

Regarding my physic... i am 6.3" tall, weight around 97kgs

1) i like pulsar 220
2) ZMR

So , please put some lights on performance, availability of spare part or cost of ownership

Which bike is lighter on pocket..????? but does not compromise on performance.

jethmalani25 : whether to use the antirust or not, is entirely an individual discretion. it's worked for me for all my bikes for last 24 years
regret that i dont know the name of the transparent silicon gel spray - that antirust treatment was carried out by bajaj service & they didnt give out a name.
also, understand that the stuff that hits ur cowls, fenders, underbody, everything is a weird mix of oil, grease, dust, tiny sharp stones & whatnot all jelled together as 'mud'
in that context, having a mixture of 2T + Diesel will last @ the max just a couple of days if not less - this is my personal opinion
i've also tried all of the below [very expensive] products over the years & they all work amazingly well.
Nanoprotech Cycle Spray [meant for bicycles but i've used it for motorcycles too]
ACF-50 [Anti-Corrosion Formula] Motorcycle And Automotive All Metal Anti-Corrosion Spray
Wurth & 3M Antirust treatments [which are pretty much thicker yet technically advanced & imported variations of the darkbrown antirust sold on the market]
cant afford these anymore so have gone back to my tried n tested antirust stuff

It 100% can be used. After all, WD40 is used to remove rust, loosen parts, and to an extent protector metal surfaces from forming rust again. Talk about SUPERMAN in a bottle, that's WD 40.

But even superman needs Krypton right, and so does it can't be used in all instances, but yes 90% of the stuffs. And you can obviously use it on any metal surface on the bike for the above mentioned reasons.

Your question has been answered in the 220 DTSI thread, have a look at it.
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

(metal canister relay = starter relay) ....and check if the black relay(electrical relay for engine running) is heating and fuming.....guess ya pump is kaput too...do exactly what i posted in the above comments......and update me..
.
the 3.9 came up only when i was trying to remove the black relay .
and i checked and couldnt able to locate fuse box.
found some black ,blue boxes which was enclosed in a stupid clip boxes which was difficult to remove .
will try to remove by tomorrow with help of friends and check .

actually i am facing battery discharge problem.
last sunday i found battery got discharged out of nowhere and after recharging it was working good.
suddenly today on 1st start-up afternoon time bike refused to start and low battery indicator started displaying.
i tried my luck in the evening and bike started in 1st self start.
i too faced the same problem before two months but few days back it stopped in the middle of the road and let me stranded

Exactly. There are two fuses one below the starer coil and the one on top of the bike battery comparment, I am talking about DTSI not FI. But in both bikes they are kinda the master fuse, and if it blows all electricals are diffused. And that has happened to many people where the bike just goes dead without any warning.

Cheers!

Malfunction light is always on while riding, local mech has blocked the small pipe coming from throttle body since bike was shutting off few seconds after glowing of the malfunction light... Now it does not shut off but exhaust sounds weird !
