In my case the kaput silencer totally camouflaged itself and everyone thought it to be the one way clutch. After we opened the crankcase we found that one way clutch is fine. So we concluded it to be the silencer.Originally posted by vid_powerstroke View Postso now tell me rahul
will my clutch be kaput ? can i get it sorted too ?? the metal churning sound ? my bike AFR should be set tooo..... pathetic mileage...
A few pointers:
1. Try revving your bike hard. Does the sound come?
2. Has the mileage gone down drastically suddenly? In my case iam running quite lean still poor mileage all of a sudden. Its because of silencer.
3. How exactly is the sound? Something like metal piece inside a metal bowl?
4. How old is the bike? How many kms run? Do u rip really hard often?
Yes u can go ahead. But trust me its a pain to clean the air filter every week. Dont forget to apply little oil on it after cleaning.Originally posted by gauravbalu View Postwell then can i remove it? i know to clean the air filter myself and can do it myself..Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

a)the sound comes after the engine is heated(warmed up)... its more like a grinding sound bro...Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostIn my case the kaput silencer totally camouflaged itself and everyone thought it to be the one way clutch. b)mileage went down dratically to 25kmpl...
..now back to 40kmpl..
c)sound is lvery faint when bike is just started.. but becomes a little loud later on... i feel the clutch is badly engineered..
d) bike is 6months old...2.7k of very soft run in... ripping hard means touch 100 for 3 secs-5secs ...bangalore aint so speed friendly...even if it is , i don do beyond that..
the nostril can be removed...its just glued into place... i removed the nostril...Originally posted by gauravbalu View PostSince you have been riding without it, can it be put back
Later?

the intake makes a sharp hissing sound...then i glued it back after 3mins... with a very strong glue... let it dry fully..
then start bike...My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !

Guys 3rd service on the way....
bike is running fine....
vibrations are back with a bang even after paddings....
looks like bikes acceleration is increased a bit....
some glitches like any random morning engine malfunction light glows and keeps glowing....
and then when i turn off ignition and start again then it becomes fine....
the tuck tuck sound from the front forks is increased.....
steering is loosed.....
bolts which connects sprocket to tyre are loose again...(i wonder why this happens every 60-65 kms... even if they are locked)
didnt count the mileage....
had to break disk lock by myself as i locked it in wrong position so there was no gap to insert the key to open it..
rear tire got 1 bombay nail in it since a month....
got that fixed too yesterday....they inserted a strip in the hole anf pulled it half out and cut it... and they charged me rs 60/- for that is it right??
tire grip has decreased so started thinking about new tire....
now plz suggest me what points should be taken care of while taking it to service....
and i read in mannual that we shud replace fuel filter and some things also....
why do i change them if i am not having any problem with them??
do i have to pay for them or they are in warranty??
waitin...

You take the intake snorkel off the whole power characteristics of the bike changes beside the fact that the induction roar becomes more pronounced. there's a big hole in the mid range but the top end gets a real boost and don't worry its simple to put it back in case you don't like the new power band, it just slots back all you need is a flat screwdriver to push the rubber flange inOriginally posted by gauravbalu View Postguys what are the cons if i take off the rubber cover kind of thing over the air intake pipe under the seat?

It'll be slightly different as the engines have some differences.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostPrabhakar.....will the FFE be the same for both FI and DTS-I or will there be any changes?
Initially we are getting it done for the FI.
Later for the SI.
Also the SI has more scope for MODS.
So the Exhaust also needs to be set as per the changes / MODS U make to the engine.sigpic

Mr PeGasUS...... hmm ur problems scare me ...

firstly give it for the third service...
get the vibrations sorted out.. sometimes the padding whne not done correctly will lead to further vibes...
acceleration increased a bit ? inspite of the rear sprocket being loose ?check the bolts that hold the sprocket... they maybe worn out.. or ur chain is twisted at a minor angle.. which is creating the sprocket to get loosened by the rotation...next symptom would be a worn out sprocket...?
engine malfunction light glows randomly ? either its getting tripped unnecessarily due to moisture in the sensors or somehting IS realy wrong..restarting engine is eliminating the prob.. ok
steering tuck tuck , pls complain to the PBk... get everything fxed...
waht were u trying to do with the disc assembly ? i dint understand that part
leave the servicing part to them... certain things will be changed with period..whether is running properly or not... coz today after the service u take home the bike , tomo something wrong with the filters... what do u do ? if they find it clean and functioning well , they might keep it.. talk to them in any case...
if they change , i guess u have to pay for em.. replaceable parts or parts susceptible to wear and tear are consumer chargeable's...My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !

very true... about he si having better scope for mods is making me wanna switch over from fi to si... but still im holding my ground..
is it possible to go for a tweaked after market ecu ? can u ask joel bout it ..im very sure he is fed up with questions as such..
maybe why not try it on a single bike, when its tested and approved by joel , maybe we can try opting for it... the ecu is the major hurdle in our case... tweaking the ecu can get good performance out of the Fi is it ? or does the Fi need special attention too ?My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !

All kinds of tuning need special attention, no matter if it's a carbed bike or an FI bike. The carbed bikes are a little easier to mod, since jetting a carb is easier than setting up a new fuel map for an FI system. Not to mention that you would need a fully programmable ECU, which as far as I know is not available for the 220. Thus any mods to the 220Fi will likely cause a fried engine, since you won't be able to push the required extra fuel into it after the mods.Originally posted by vid_powerstroke View Postvery true... about he si having better scope for mods is making me wanna switch over from fi to si... but still im holding my ground..
