Well.. I hav bought the right side handle switch unit of the FZ. The bike has 2 accelerator cables. On the unit apart from the h/l switch ( which has off, park and on positions) there is an eks switch which I intend to use for the aux light. Some other bikes in the Yamaha stable has h/l on..off switch and the hi..low switch on the left side handle switch unit. That also can be used. Since the aux will be on relay the switch will have only the minimal load of the relay. I intend to tap the power for relay from the wire from the key.
But this is a long term diy since I don't have any free time nowadays.

Hi Folks.. need your suggestions regarding alternative disc pad for KARIZMA ZMA-R 2011 Version. ..
My ZMA disc pads gone wear off within an year.(Last year i changed to new set of disc pad from HERO SVC; costed 1700/-).

Now i dont want to spend 1700+ for original pads for this much short lifespan again.

Please let me know some other alternatives which is as effective as original.

Firstly, you were conned if you paid 1700. Pads cost 1200 rupees with tax.
Secondly, the wear and tear depends upon your usage and maintenance of disc assy.
Third, there are no options that are cheaper and provide similar experiences.

                      Non OE options are:
                      1. Ninja 250R sintered pads. 1600 rupees
                      2. Apache RTR pads. 270 odd rupees.
                      3. Shriram Alpine pads. Exact price not known but under 300 rupees IIRC.

I stay very far from you (Hebbal). I've no idea about mech near BTM.
RTR pads are ok, but they scrape your disc rotor. It will have swirl marks and they tend to cause score marks on them. Rotors are costlier than pads.

Added to that, RTR pads are make a screeching sound (non stop). It cannot be solved because it's the base material itself that makes such sounds!

So finally after 8 long years...i got rid of my rear break liners. Yup you heard it right 8 YEARS!

Well that's how i use my rear break...whereas I have changed 6 times front disk pads. Never bought it from asc after the stock ones. Since then i am using unicorn break pad which costs 150/- here in Mumbai and are pretty good.

Still my clutch plates are stock and got them checked with my mechanic and got thumbs up from him. I dont like to rev the bike hard, so still its fine.

Sent from my Panasonic P81 using xBhp Connect mobile app

                            • Hero Honda Karizma r : heavy metallic sound during gear shifts

                              HI fellow XBHPIANS,

I recently gave my 2007 karizma r to my local hero ASC . few of my problems faced in the bike were engine sound (more like tak tak and increases after engine gets hot ),gear shift hard, pickup and a bit of chain sound. It took nearly 3 hours and i was sitting in the customer lounge for the same time ,since i wanted to make sure the bike got all its problems rectified unlike the last time experience in where i gave the bike and got a call to receive the bike and found out many problems weren't even touched nor resolved....

but this time it was not to be like the old experience. immediately i found a drastic change in the engine round , and was simply brand new engine sound. the service center guys told he tightend the top valves as they were loose . he also changed my gear shift arm (the one we use to shift gear ) ,clutch discs and chain set.. he told he also tuned my carburetor . i was seriously happy .

but it was during this way to my home i found this strange sound .. when ever i came across a speed breaker i slowed down and as i crossed over the speed breaker and as i rise my bike i hear this annoying sound 'ting ting ting ..'(very metallic ) from the engine and as the rpm gets ok for the gear it vanishes.. well i can too relate it to the sound that comes out of many bikes during a low rpm drag on high gears ... but the sound from i bike i feel i quite heavy ...

need your suggestions and help guys . i live in Hyderabad can any one please tell me any famous mechanic too.

What is the ODO reading? Possibly the camshaft. Make it a habit to get the tappets (valve clearance) adjusted every 6-8k km.
Also, do not lug the engine (high gear at low rpm).
