I got my bike serviced a few days back and a day after i got it serviced a sound started coming from the chain as if something is stuck and getting rubbed with the chain. so I took the bike to SVC and the mechanic told me that its find and there is nothing to worry about. But I really feel annoying when I hear that noise. is there anything I can do to fix that noise or is it normal?

^been discussed a lot of times...
1) It will settle down in some time in case its a new bike
2) If it still exists, get the front sprocket out and plonk it back the other way around
(|: becomes :|)
No need to worry..
@HydBiker: dunno man, its not the scene here! and I dont work for em

My bike approaching its 2nd birthday
Lots of things need to be sorted out. The sprocket has maxed out completly, the front tyre is almost bald, some amount of wobbling in the front (might be due to the tyre or the rim).TVS 50 XL -> 125 XXL : TVS VICTOR GL : YAMAHA R15-S : YAMAHA FZ1n :: KTM RC 390

No don' t do that if the tyre gets heated while running so will the nail also heat and a bit expand and vice versa, even when going on bad roads the nail may go inside the tyre leaving you with a a big hole in a no mans land,
i would suggest you to go any re-soldering tyre shop and ask them to cover the hole with a patch from inside. And solder the tyre from outside
Originally posted by chiku181 View Postgot a huge puncture on my rear tyre. The tyre shops are saying they can't repair this. I'm planning to cut the part of the nail extending from the other side and leave it as it is. Any suggestions???

My bike completed 2500kms today.
Just wanted to thank you guys for clearing all of my sometimes silly questions. I'm better informed that means I'm more confident about my bike and for that I'm grateful to you guys.
Thanks again

@chiku181: Either get the tire repaired at shop which does tubeless tire repairs or change the tire (I know its an expensive option)... personally, I would change the tire as the side wall is damaged... DO NOT ride the bike in the condition you have shown in the photo... It is extremely dangerous to do so even at moderate speeds... and your option of cutting the nail off and leaving it in the tire is an absolute NO NO....Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

@chiku181: Either you can change the tyre or convert as tubed.
@all: Few pages back, there was a discussion about the NEW(Indian made) Front disc pads. I changed my front disc plate and the disc pads.
Disc Plate:
1. 2009 model imported from Indonesia - cost: Rs1250/-
2. 2010 model made in India - cost: Rs700~
My bike is 2009 model and I have to use the Indonesian disc plate as the new 2010 model bikes are equipped with Indian made disc plates with some minor design change. Got this information from svc.
Disc Pad:
1. 2009 model imported from Indonesia - cost: Rs750~
2. 2010 model made in India - cost: Rs350~
There is no design change in the disc pad, so i picked the 2010 pad.
Review:
I felt the braking has become worst. It is very hard and not effective. Felt like drum brake.
Seems like no more stoppie's in my bike.
Is this what you guys feel?

Got my R15
hi Friends
Its been a Week I brought my R15 in Impact Yellow colour
the dealer told me that I'll get the Bike on 1st July at 5pm. so I went along with a Friend and reached there at 6pm.
after checking the Papers, I found that my name was wrongly written on the Temporary Registration slip.
so we decided to keep the Papers with them so that they can rectify the mistake the next day. got a phothcopy of the Papers and
came back with the Bike.
Since I'm new to riding and this is my first Bike, my friend(who also tought me Riding) rode her Home with me as pillion.
It was raining and we rode 45kms that day. Next day Morning we went to Mandir to do Puja.
After that I went to the Dealer to get the Papers and was Happy to find the correction done.
Since then, I take her out for small spins to get acquinted with her.
Went to the RTO for Registration on Tuesday which was about 25kms away and the road was very bad.....but the Bike took in everything easily.
as of now, I'm getting very poor FE(<30kmpl). Hope this will be sorted out after First service(any suggestions?).
The Gear shifter has been lowered on Tuesday which I was finding difficult to shift as I had to literally lift my leg for shifting. Now its Fine:-)
Stickered the number Today.
Please help me maintain her Properly and suggect me the things I should keep in mind and look after as I'm new to riding and heavy traffic scares me.
Thank You
RIDE SAFE

Get the disc pads out, sand paper it and plonk it back in.... check if your plates dying!
Edit:
Missed the Price Difference point:
Possibly Non standard or a bit defective peices. These are often sold as cheaper parts in the grey market.
May be your dealer is buying it from there, but being honest and charging you lower rates!
I am just speculating, why not write to the customer care and ask them about this?Last edited by satyenpoojary; 07-08-2010, 03:53 PM.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more
