Fuel used to over flow from the carb. They couldn't fix the issue. Changed the carb thrice under warranty and it still used to overflow. Got fed up and sold it.

And i used to get very less FE during that time. So it could be a possibility.

I've used same profile only upping the width. 110/80-17 front and 140/70-17 rear. I bought Michelin Pilot Street radial

Fuel overflow?. They replaced with new carb?. xplod566, do you smell the fuel?. If the fuel is leaking, then you should be able to smell it. Also, is your fuel tank cap loose?. Also if the fuel overflows the carb, then either it should come out of carb or go into the engine and resulting in overflowing the chamber, which in your case will result in hydraulic lock but it isn't.

I doubt if someone is stealing it or the loose cap. If petcock is in OFF mode, and the fuel doesn't leak, then it's purely related to carb. Can you narrow down the issue?.

Yes it happens when it's on.I have logged a complain. I don't see any fuel leakage but there is always a smell near my bike.

There is a valve inside carb known as Float Valve , If it doesnt seat with the float bowl seat, fuel will keep flowing into carb no matter what. Consider it as a float valve for toilet flush , if it stops working flush keeps flowing.

Solution : Change valve and clean seat thoroughly.

Check fuel cap if the breather hole is clean or not. Also replace the valve it barely costs 50/-.

Oh, I thought pilot street was only available in 110/70-17. A tyre dealer told me it doesn't come in 110/70-17!! 110/80 would be good as it raises the front by 8mm, adding more cushioning and making posture upright. Will consider it when I change my tyres.

The 110 part is the width of the tyre that contacts the road that you see when looking from behind the bike. The70/80 part is height of sidewall as percentage of width that you see when looking at bike from the side. The 17/18 part is the rim diameter on which tyre will fit. This is what you cannot change without changing rim.
Search tyre size guide or just look at snapdeal or amazon for tyres. They have a link for sizing.

Any idea about how good is fx1? The tyre shop suggested me that but I hadn't heard of it before so didn't get it. If it comes on fz then it may be good.

You might want to try 7100 but I don't want to roll out few thousands for that...!!!
Bajaj recommends 20w50. The hot rating is same and the minor diff in cold rating shouldn't create any issues.
Ditto on 7100. During service the SVC had 7100 but I couldn't bring myself to spend so much on it. Also the SVC had bottles with mrp rs. 805. But they said price of new packing is increased so they charge new price of- 1000rs per litre!!!!

Good morning everyone.... Does AS200 uses a lot of petrol during run-in yesterday for the first time I checked my mileage using reserve to reserve method it returned me a mileage of 22.2kmpl

Definitely wrong. I didn't do a proper run in, I revved a lot (and continue to do so!!) I'm getting 34. Check with SVC immediately.

Either someone stole fuel or it overflew. 22 is too low, even if you rip always. By the way, during run in, one usually gets easily 40+. I got 42-44 during my run in, now the max i could get is 38, even after riding under very sane condition [emoji20]

I've booked the AS200 and would get it sometime next week. I've gone through 100 pages of this thread. A lot of run in idea have been shared. And now I'm a bit confused.

Can someone give me a collated preview in the run in process. It would be my first bike. I have less that 24hr riding experience to be honest.

So far I understand that

a) Keep it below 4k RPM till 500km and that's when it goes to the first service. Post 500km can rev it upto 5k RPM? Or is it post 1k km it can be reved upto 5k RPM? The run in would end at 2k km. So when can it be reved upto 6k RPM?

b) Don't change engine oil till 5k km. Later planning to change it to Motul 7100 20W50. Till then Bajaj DTSI should do just fine.

c) Add washers to the bolts on the wind screen.

d) Expect vibes. Not much of a bother for me.

e) First to Third on the AS are short and then it's tall.

f) MRF tires at least. Hoping the dealer keeps his word and gets me the MRF tires. Not counting on it though.

g) Need some help with the gear. I've got no clue which one to get. Helmet, gloves, jacket. Most of my rides after the run in would be on the NH8. Any suggestions?

h) Main stand costs around ₹650 w/ labor.

i) Might have to adjust the high beam, heard it shoots to the moon.

j) Can someone help me with the PDI for my AS200. Pics would really help as this would be my first bike.

What I'm scared of

a) Gears getting stuck. Is that an issue with most or bike specific?

b) Slight lean to the left. Is there a fix?

c) Can cushions be added for the pillion? Heard it's a bit too hard cuz my girl would ride with me

d) Console lights switching off when the engine is off. I travel back home at night and I've been riding my friends Fazer which keeps getting off during stop start (Not a bike issue, still learning how the clutch works)

I never did a proper run-in, got 28-30 then, now after 7 months and 8k kms, i get 32-35 depending on conditions, and being honest, what i do are highway runs primarily, hence high rpm's, high speeds! so i guess, its fine.
