He has quoted approximate price of 4.5k for the service including normal Oil Change and other things.

Apparently, this is being done as advised by BAL itself. Can anyone please advice me on this?

    Hi,

The service centres will quote all kinds of replacements to be done , 9500k is way too early to be changing fork oil and 'other stuff'. Open the manual, the intervals for fork oil change etc is given in it( i believe its 30,000 km, and only if required). This is not mandatory. Fork oil lasts a really long time. I have changed it only once in my other motorcycle which has done 1 Lakh Km.

Just get engine oil and some filters changed, and walk out of there refusing the other replacements.

Note : Please ask them to share a copy of the BAL advisory asking them to suggest these items for replacement.

Oh boi, teflon coating was done for free as complementary!

        Dear Fellow Owners,

I have been facing a peculiar issue with my Dominar. It has run 5000 kms in 10 months and finished 2nd service 2 months ago where in it received the latest ECU update. I was having a lot of problems with throttle lag and thankfully that was rectified with the update.

However the issue I have been facing since the past 3 weeks is that the bike keeps stalling whether in Neutral, 1st or 2nd Gear. Even If I am stationary at traffic lights and am in neutral with the clutch fully released it happens. If I suddenly reduce speed at roundabouts and am slipping the clutch, the throttle cuts out. At this point I would like to clarify that I have been riding since 15 years and the issue is not with my riding. Also the bike was not stalling in the first 8 months and also after the ECU update, this is a recent development. I have tried getting fuel from different petrol pumps but that is not the issue. I always let the bike idle for a minute before putting it in gear and moving so cold start is also not the culprit. Mine is the first batch.

Anyone out there facing this? I am yet to visit the service centre as I will have to take a leave from work so I have to plan it out. I am open to suggestions.

Stalling in Neutral is odd. Have you noticed fluctuations in RPM when idling? if its changing or if you are noticing difference in sound when idling, then it probably has to do with throttle body cleanup. if it just drops all of the sudden, maybe something to do with the side stand check. I mean, you wont find answers here. Bajaj needs to look into this.

            Hi,

First of all, thanks for replying. You are right there are fluctuations in rpms even while idling. Will definitely take it to the SVC soon. Just wanted to know if someone has faced something similar and what was the solution. Most of the times these SVC engineers need to be told a bit assertively what could be wrong. If one is lucky, they actually pay attention and fix the issue, hence thought of asking on this forum.

Most of the handlebar riser manufactures are making 25 mm ones. And while 5 mm won't feel much in terms of height of handle bar, it could be difference between stressed and non-stressed clutch cable. with 30 mm ones installed on my dominar, every time i downshift, I feel a click in the clutch lever.

BTW, everyone should buy the handlebar risers for Dominar. Riding position is much more relaxed now. I love it. just don't go for Sahayadri moto's risers.

Bhai if there is fluctuations in rpm at idle or neutral then do get the throttle body inspected and cleaned up. As i know few cases where there are uneven fluctuations in rpm and sometimes rpm is stuck at a point and they replaced and in one case cleaned the throttle body. In one case it happens coz of the bmc air filter.

Also if u get some kat kat noise from clutch, do get the slipper clutch unit inspected.

Thank you brother. Will get the throttle body looked into. The problem is getting more frequent now and even while coming to office in the morning today this happened twice on 2 intersections. The clutch is not making any noise out of the ordinary and once the bike is moving at above 30 kmph there are no issues. I do feel hesitation below that speed, though this hesitation is different from the throttle lag. Just waiting for my schedule to clear up so I can get it checked. Will update once it is fixed.

Do update us, low speed missing i can relate to adulterated fuel and a bad throttle body get the fi system fully checked up.

Sure thing. It cant be bad fuel since I got fuel filled (tankfull to tankfull method) from 3 different bunks when I suspected this. Will ask the SVC guys to check the fi system and test it from their end as well.

So 30mm definitely needs a longer clutch cable. That just extended my search.

Use the bajaj generic clutch cable buy from bajaj service center or any bajaj parts dealer. This cable is used in other bajaj bikes or u can use Re Electra cable.
Bajaj cable is used with 2 inches raisers by a fellow rider and it cost around 90 bucks.

Does handle bar raiser reduce handle bar vibrations? I cant even mount phone holder it produce buzz noice when rpm reachs 4.5 k -5.5 k
