Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
i know they are diffrent ultra is fully synthetic and ax7 is semi synthetic so does ultra really causes problems or is it ok to use it?Originally posted by prateek2210 View Post
so should i go for vyde 120 or zapper c 110? the life of vyde is really less than 10k kms? and if already discussed please provide me the link to the page on forum as there are 1400+ pages on tyres post.Originally posted by prateek2210 View Post
along with pillion the bike becomes sluggish, earlier i had cbz xtreme, i feel even apache even sluggish than that so i think that k & N and upjetting will increase the throw(pickup) just wanted to know whether it really does? my friend had this job done in his 220 and he says there is improvement in performance. at mxs motosport they are offering rc1100 for 2500 and along with upjetting total expense 2800 something.Originally posted by prateek2210 View Post

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
i have been using zapper vyde for nearly a year and its already lost 75% of grip pattern. this being the negative part. Now the positive part is that this tire is awesome. even at this point of time it provides neat grip both dry and wet.Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View Postso should i go for vyde 120 or zapper c 110? the life of vyde is really less than 10k kms? and if already discussed please provide me the link to the page on forum as there are 1400+ pages on tyres post.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I have just completed 7500 kms on my RTR 160, i'm simply loving my beast, I dont care if it vibrates, if it wont go 130+ kmph, it gets me where I want to go and it never disappoints.
BTW that exhaust note is just awesome.
Just thought of sharing with fellow xbhpians, hope that nobody minds.

Any 150 cc bike will feel a bit sluggish when ridden with pillion, its not designed to carry so much load, I think RTR 160 can carry 130 kgs of load but beyond that it will feel sluggishOriginally posted by priyank.shishodia View Post

Any bike that packs the power to weight ratio matter, or who's performance is based on the same will become sluggish once with pillion, as because ur not getting that ratio benefit , as far my experience goes with K&n on my previous ride, please dont go for K&n its for sure going to offer you bad impact on long run and jetting what i believe never goes correct ,somehow it would be rich or lean.
and rtr be it 160 or 180 anyday feel more sluggish than that of cbz with pillion on board

There might be sensible riders who ride these scooters but sadly 90% of worst, senseless & idiotic riders, ride these scooters.
Dont trust me. Check it out to believe, so that next time you see a rider with above qualities, 90% its going to be Honda Dio scooters.
By the dude your setup do look good, but for a sensible rider we must make sure that these setups do not hurt other riders on the road.
After all road is not meant for me or you. Its meant for all. Anyway I hope you wont ride with such setup in rainy or muddy watered roads.
nyc sad man, i appreciate that, and ya for sure i am not going to take this setup for monsoon anyhow.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Its better if you go to synthetic oils gradually (mineral < semi synthethic < synthethic), but synthetic would be of no use in our bikes as it will make the gear shifting too hard.Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View Posti know they are diffrent ultra is fully synthetic and ax7 is semi synthetic so does ultra really causes problems or is it ok to use it?
Tyre life depends on how you use it. My stock TVS tyres are bald and 40k kms old, still going strong. Vyde is more towards soft compound, so can easily last upto 20-25k kms (normal riding and less off roading), same goes with zapper c.Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View Postso should i go for vyde 120 or zapper c 110? the life of vyde is really less than 10k kms? and if already discussed please provide me the link to the page on forum as there are 1400+ pages on tyres post.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
because of k&n i had to replace my carb. in long run i used to get light smoke from exhaust too.
i'd say k&n isnt for our bikes. the ones we use are used for lawn movers in USA.
Tried K&N with ktm 200 and it felt fast and sounded neat, but in a drag it used to be always behind the stock ktm 200.

Hey Guys !
My friend owns an Apache RTR 160, and he is not happy with the illumination of stock headlights (35W) during night rides.
Can anyone suggest an upgrade ? Thanks in advance.TVS Apache RR310 - "Diablo" - 2018

One of the best upgrades is the Osram Nightracer plus but it's hard to find, other alternative is Cool blue bulb or if he wants to spend abit then he could go for HIDs. For more info, please search the thread as members have already discussed this & you can also find the review for Osram nightracer lamp by Adarsh_BkOriginally posted by YashwanthBK View PostHey Guys !

For new owners information - Those who owns ABS model, ABS error correction & deletion is free of cost during 1 st year of bike or 30,000 km ODO. I will recommend this to be done during first 5 service at least.

STick with TVS SS oil if you want to use it for City mostly, "10w30/40" does the job well during cold season...

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
10W40 oil will provide better protection to the engine during cold starts. Most of the engine wear occurs during the initial warm up phase of the engine. Between the two given oils, I would pick the semi synthetic any time (not just in winter). Viscosity is not the only reason. Being a semi synthetic, it's a better oil.Originally posted by VinayakVerma View PostHi Friends . Can somebody pls tell me which oil is better for north india harsh winters . And if you ride in the city extensively, it's better to use synth or semi synth oils. The best things in life are dangerous: Motorcycles and Women
