Are you alright brother??

1 month is not that long. Just follow the below steps.

set the bike on main stand.
close the fuel tap. (set the fuel knob below the tank to off position).
Then start the bike and let it idle, till all the fuel in the pipes and the carburetor is burned by the engine.
When all the fuel from the pipes is gone, the bike will cough and then stop.
keep the fuel knob off till you are ready to ride again.
And you're done.

after you recover, turn on the fuel knob and start the bike using the kick and let it idle for about 5 minutes, and you are good to go.
Get well soon brother. All the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

15k+? Can you give the full break up of cost?
Tappet sounds do come before the run in is complete, but if its too much then you should get it corrected immediately.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

OK, good to know that you are well.
When I was in college hostel, I used to come home once in 2 or 3 months, use the bike for 3 days and then back to hostel for another 2 months. I used the same procedure that I advised you, and the bike was fine for the 4 years I was away. So I say this from experience, 1 month is not that long. Dont worry a bit about the bike. Focus on getting well soon. and like prateek sir said, you can start the bike once a week or once in 10 day just so that battery does not die out. start using kick.
All the best. Take care.

• My Mate : Apache RTR 180 Matte Black

INTRODUCTION.

Myself- Alex Gregory. Currently doing B.com with accountancy honours. A hardcore motorcycle enthusiast. I read everything that comes about in the internet that talkes about motorcycles.

Here's the story:-

When i was in tenth grade i requested my parents to give me a moped . My daily communting was done on my trusted hercules axn bicycle & i used it to go to my tuitions & occasionally to school.
I used to ride around 20-25 kms daily. Sometimes it used to be difficult but then i enjoyed the freedom my 2 wheeler offered.
Working this schedule everyday was tiring. And the summers, rains made life worse.
Go to school, get back, lunch,go to tuitions, back home & then study.
It was tiresome.
I requested my parents about giving me a moped(2nd hand will do).
I was sceptic that i will get it or not but my mum agreed to this & said, she will have a chat with dad.

But then he is my dad & the answer was "NO".
Dad:"what will he do with a scooty. This is not his age to ride. He will just roam here & there with it and not concentrate on his studies".
So with so many "accusations" the plan for a moped was dropped.

Then came my +2 & i choose a different school which was 11kms away from my home.
So came in the local transportation system~autos & buses.
For a month this stuff continued . going to & fro in any public transport & then walk the remaining 500m to school.

After a month i came across my classmate who lived closeby my home & he offered me to come with him. He had a scooty
"Voila...."
So for the next 2 years this was my way of transport. We used to share the petrol expenses and hang out wenever possible.

In mid september ' 11 i met with an accident while coming back from school. A bloody dog came in between & hit the front wheel. I got injuries on my left hand side. Badly bruised. Bed ridden for a month. My friend got little bit of a head injury but he was fine. Luckily my head was all right as i had a helmet at that time.

+2 passed by without any more untoward incidents. Then came my graduation. My college was just 7kms from my home but it was located at such a place where there was no direct bus / auto.
So at 7 in the morning i had to change 3 autos, carry a million coins(bloody autowallahs overcharge like hell) & walk half a km to reach my college. This was my condition for the 1st year. After completion of my first year i started pestering my parents for a bike. The pestering continued for 2-3 months & then on my 20th birthday at midnight my mum handed me 83000 in cash for my bike.
She gave me the money & a kiss.

Best day of my life .
Haha.

But we had not taken permission from dad about the bike . So it was upto mum to convince him. And to my surprise she did convince him.
Hell Yeahhhhh !!!!!!!
In the meantime on 18 july '14 my friend GautamNarvane got the delivery of his duke 390. ( i must tell you the day he had his duke he was bloody smiling all day like an airhostess ).

The whole of july i was waiting for my dad to confirm positively about the bike.
My friends & I visited the nearby showrooms.
I had decided to check out the apache 180.
Reached to showroom with friends & man i was blown away by the looks of the matte black edition. I wanted to steal it away & then ride like hell. Such was my enthusiasm. Cuuld not wait any more & told my parents that apache was it.

I booked a matte black edition at ashirvaad tvs. They told me they have it in stock & i can pick it up anytime i want.
So i decided that 18 August should be the date. Went in on that day with my mom & friends.
Did the PDI , and all the insurance , buying formalities. All in all it took 4 hours.
Then. I was finally a proud owner of the 2014 Apache RTR 180 Matte black.
Rode out with mom as my pillion. Went to the nearest petrol pump & then to the church for blessings.

Went home. Had lunch & took my mate to my friends. All of them were pleased with the new color scheme.

Rode around 60 kms that day.
Took it to college the next day & everyone was like "Whoaah " " Mast bike hai bhai". I must tell you its a looker & even after 6 months i get stares at the traffic stops.
It has been wonderful 6 months with my mate & i absolutely love it.
Vehicle has been running like a charm since day 1. No problems at all.

I have done close to 3450 kms till today.
I know its a lot less . Mainly beacause i just travel to my colleges & to the church on sundays. I ride around 600 kms a month.
I had followed the run-in procedure strictly. Rode it under 50 kmph till first service. I got a mileage of around 25 kmpl during the run-in.
I know its a lot on the lower side but i could not figure out why it gave so less.
Did the first service at aashirvaad tvs .
Did Oil change
oil filter change
Chain lubed
Bike washed
Teflon coated.
Damages came to be around 440 Rupees.
I will discuss the service experience later.
Till now i have done 3 services.
Bike is giving me a mileage of around 45 kmpl.
I usually ride in the city with speeds varying from 40-60. I Do not exceed 60 as its pointless to go fast as you would have to brake soon.

I will discuss my rides with friends later in the thread.
I would like to thank my friends Hari, Shubham, GautamNarvane & many more of them who had encourage me to get the apache. And a big thanx to my parents who gifted me what i had dreamed of.

Regards

Regards
Alex
Brother our stories are same, we have struggled a lot for our bikes. I am happy for you and by the way nice ownership review. Crisp and to the point...
