For apache or almost any bike in the Indian market, the 20w50 or 15w50 should be more than enough in helping reducing operating temperature a bit and help running a cooler engine and for effective lubrication and reduced vibration.
Though the number before the W shouldn't matter much 15w50 will also do.

He was talking about Shell Advance 4T AX7 which is a 10w40 oil. It is semi synthetic.

      I personally use Motul 5100 15w50

Yes imo RTRs need tappet adjustment every now and then. But 15minutes of idling should not effect the tappets.

No no shell advance ax7 4t is 10w40
The axz that is 20w70 is for diesel trucks and high torque tractors

            Hey buddy,
Tappet adjustment should be done on a cold engine, buy yourself a feeler gauge there is a beautiful diy on xbhp specially for the rtr have a look at that mate.
Or take it to svc and tell them to let the bike cool for 1 hr or more then adjust the tappets

Okay bro . wil keep these in mind wen a little loose the tappets made a very bad sound ! the mech did not wan to tighten i only made him tighten it ! my bad in this case Too tight of a tappet setting would break the valves right ? am not exceeding 50kmph until i reach 500kms this time . Ill check the tappets during the 1st oil change . Is the motul 3000 any good ?? better than the ax3 ?Thinking of using it during the run-in alone !

Motul offers you little peace of mind with JASO(MA2) certificates over Shell oils. That said, I not sure which one are good for run-in(engine parts mating).

                Better oil => healthy engine.

For air-cooled engines run-in is best done with mineral oil. After run-in synthetics can be used.

Motul 3000 is a phenomenal oil. All the motul oils are, they make very high quality oils and I have asked a dealer he says the profit margin for the company and delarrs is least on motul. I am a motul fan

Now loose tappets will make a weird noise say like a sewing machine. But thags ok, loose tappets are what your engine needs till it completes run in, let the svc do this for you, they will charge you 200 bucks. But they will do a good job with a feeler gauge.
Remember to change engine oil filter with evey oil change. 40 rs is the cost.
Dip the new filter in 100ml enhine oil andnlet it soak it up, then add 1 liter engine oil to the engine.
People will say with a new filter add 1100 ml engine oil but sometimes the filter dosent soak up that much and the excessive pressure from the extra oil can make your head cover gaskets etc leak.
                      Cheers

Yes. That's true. I have observed that even in the new engines. Even after you adjust the tappets properly, you'll hear mild tappet noise from the engine after some 5km ride. I guess the clearance recommended by TVS is a bit on the higher side.

Motul has a few good oils
                          3000/3100 (for about 330rs)...
5100 (for bout 550 odd bucks)
                          7100 (for about 600 to 750)
                          And 300v is above 800rs.
Now, all these oils are awsome in there own right,
The difference between 7100 and 300v is very less.
Now coming to the topic motul 5100
I have used it for about 4000km , oil had tunerd black but engine was veey smooth and engine heat was very less, for summers this is the best oil money can get. Winterms mein you can run 7100 and fs oils, 5100 dosent vaporise easily(unless you are overheating), and the engine looked very clean from the inside (I had opend the clutch side to clean the centrifugal filter for my pulsar), engine oil is pure vfm. But if your clutch plates are a little worn it can cause q little slipaage but not much,
                          Go for it!
Best friend in our summers and trafic, it dosent loose its viscosity easily.

Ps:- prices are from the dealer I buy oil from, kolkata. Not sure what they are at your place.

Thanks for the info. Any idea how it fares in RTR as some owners have reported sluggish performance and clutch slippage with w50 grade oils in the past.

I have used it in a rtr 160 and had a few cluth slippage ehen the oil is new but not much, the rtr is a rev friendly engine, and hence thicker oil will probably make it rev a little less easily. 5100 is also available in 20w40 i think try that!

Edit:- 7100 and 3000 is available in 10w40 and 20w40 respectively.
No 5100 for you srry mate. For summers motul 3000 20w40 with a drain interval of 2500km is what I will say

No doubt motul makes very good oils
But IMO motul oil and RTR dont do so well together but its only my opnion.
I am currently using shell advance ax7, for RTR its a very good, doesnt affect performance but enhances it, makes the engine smooth.
Yes it may not keep the engine as cool as the thicker oils but it does control the engine temperature.
I mostly ride on highways and very less in city, as per my usage it does justice to the bike.
But engine oil depends on an individual and his usage.
