      • guys...some one in the FZ ownership thread has said that a joeled FZ can beat the crap out of a stock RTR(both 160 & 180) but not r15...is it true...please this is not to create or start an argument..just for information thats all.

depends on level of joelling brother and i also think tht i would easily beat a 160

The air flow increases when the bike is in motion making the afr mixture lean, hence the engine begs for more supply of fuel to compensate the more amount of air. What is the stock jet size?I told u before, this jetting and all stuff is a trial and error method.Try the 125 jet size(you may even get the Pulsar main jet and drill it),again tune the carb for proper afr mixture and check by riding the bike(not standstill)redlining the engine in all gears,if you dont feel any 'flat spot' or lag in between, you are there!
Psr sir, correct me if I am wrong.
lets see will do so but i have made the hole size to same of a 125 jet but still bike is jerking maybe due to another factor

In the bike there will be only one crank breather tube, while there seem to be two in the picture...just find out if the breather oil drain tube is also connected to the inlet, and the tube's other end is open ..this can lead to problems...

                • @utkarsh-then why cant it beat a stock r15????? r15 has leser acceleration compared to the rtr160 and 180.

Might be the faulty TPS but first check the carb settings ,air cleaner.

Remove the breather pipe from the hose pipe as it relieves pressure from the crankcase and emits oil vapours.Your friend dont want this hot gases again entering the engine through the air intake, right?Tie a small piece of foam at the ends of both the pipes for filtration purpose, that should help.

Yes,one is the crankcase breather pipe and other one is attached to the air cut off valve or something like that,I forgot the exact name.

How powerful a suction through the Ventury of the carburetor is determined by the suction at inlet manifold, the amount of throttle valve opening, and the air restriction at the air inlet mouth of carb...If the inlet of carb is fully open to outside air this will drop the air speed, through carb ventury because the abundant availability of air outside will immediately try to neutralize any difference in vacuum occurring in the ventury, and the engine will not be able to rev the same as with an AIR FILTER.
This is also the reason why fitting a larger Ventury carb, than recommended will lead to poor low to mid pull ,but good at higher RPM when high flow rate is needed, while a smaller Ventury carb will pull better at low and mid..but will be poor at top end as it cannot flow better at higher speeds .

Hey even i had this problem for a long time i thought it was the RTR 180's default problem lol.. but then even i asked around here and i was suggested to change TPS or the Throttle kit (cost 95 rs Bangalore) and the problem minimised to a great extent.. then even cleaning the Spark Plug helps a lot!

Those were Joel's words too.that a fully tuned FZ can smoke a RTR180(i believe it was a 180).But even the RTR can be tuned

yes the filter is black even when new . really hard to judge how clean it is just by looking . wonder why they cant provide a lighter colored filter new one costs around 150 approx . you can clean it with kerosene and lube with a small packet of 2t oil [rs12only]

                              • @ranjith-what did he say about the R15 then..can a fully tuned fz smoke a r15???? if it cant then technically r15 has better acceleration than the RTR180......just saying..
