Now coming to the viberations part, it will never completly go away. Tips to control viberation: 1. Do run-in well, use engine breaking more while in run-in. 2. Try to keep the A/F ratio to optimum 3. Keep chain cleaned and lubed 4. Use mineral oil for atleast first 5k km. These are only some of the simple tips one needs to follow to reduce some amount of viberations.
@Both that's nice of you both, Keep Helping If not senior then trusted at least,we can trust on your info's

...coming to Vibration any guess why it vibrates ? due to Torque ? or due to Compression Ratio? or any other thing ?

P.S. Having problems in uploading pics in this newer version. Pics are being uploaded but unable to post full sized images in post. Tried posting as attachments as well as posting URLs, but they're being posted as thumbnails only.

The SELECT (check) button is under the "From URL" tab and not in "From PC", IIRC. And I've tried doing that also, no gain.

Bro. Word of advice : Buy one beauty and bring her up from scratch. The RTR needs personal care, love and detailing. Getting a grown and groomed one from anyone is not done. But if you just want one for so-so riding then mileage, maintenance and a few issues you will definitely face.

And buddy, out of the 14.5 hours of the riding on day-1, almost 8-9 hours would've been in rain The mileage I got is 43.5kmpl including 300 odd kms. of ripping in hills

Yes, it is wise to buy and RTR, but buying any bike second hand will require you to judge the bike's condition for the price you're paying. Its good that you already know the pros of the bike. The basic problem with the bike is vibrations. Ride an RTR for a good time and see if you are comfortable with the vibes or not. Other than that, I don't find any problem in the bike. Do take an experienced biker with you when you're going to test ride the bike you're buying, and experience here doesn't stand only for the person who is riding two-wheelers for long, but for the guy who can judge how the bike is performing (as compared to / relative to other RTRs). So, if you have one available with you, I would advice you to take along an RTR owner who knows his bike nicely. Otherwise you ride a healthy RTR for some time, get to know how it should feel and perform and then take test ride of the bike you're about to buy. Hope this, along with the basic pointers in the link provided by Shahbaz63 are enough. Good Luck!

                            • I need advice,

I'm a loyal TVS Customer I had TVS XL, TVS MaxR, and i was happy so i bought TVS Flame and after which im currently looking to sell of that Sh** Bike and planning for a new one.
My eyes are towards the RTR 180
But people are claiming that the RTR Engine will loose its power in 2 years and bike will not feel the same and will not give the same mileage and aggressiveness,
But i know for a fact that this will be the case for all 4 stroke engines - but still i have a little bit of a doubt, because the bike im gonna purchase should at least run good for another 6-7 years of time.
I know the mileage factor and pathetic tvs service, But all i wanna know is the RTR 180 worth the Price
Because the Tag line is "Scaringly Fast but what i think is that it is Scaringly Costly".

My RTR 180 is almost 31 months old. Clocked 17,771 kms. Power delivery even now is stellar, which keeps me amazed. Mileage is 39-43 km/litre inside city at speeds within 55 km/hr. It's been pretty consistent since i bought the menace.

Thing is, if you properly run-in the engine for the first 1000-1500 kms, optimum performance is guaranteed for years to come. After around 5000 kms, semi-synthetic oils by Motul or Shell can be used. Motul 3100 Gold 10W30/40, Shell Advance AX7 10W40 to be specific. Both costs around 350 INR. Stick to W30 (pick the motul) or W40 grades. Don't change the carb setting unless it is highly recommended. And yes, remember to service the bike every 3 months/2500 kms.

I bought my ride for 73,000 INR on the road back in Feb 2010. I think the price now asked for is still worth it.

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.
