Hello RTR owners,
Sincere query. When do the vibes set in? Are they prevalent through upwards of 6k revs and/or 45+ kmph? I need the luxury of riding hard when required as I need to overtake very often on the highway. Also a word or two about what tyres to use.
I was planning to buy an Apache RTR 160/180 soon! Thanks

The vibs usually set in around 50-60kmph & can be minimized in a various ways like wearing gloves, proper running period, etc though i think members like prateek2210 & shahbaz63 may answer this better than me

Hmm, is it a 35w or 65w bulb, anyways yes, blueish light is often considered more fancy than for riding purpose bcoz of this very reason while white is rather troublesome in foggy conditions therefore yellow is considered best due to it's similarity to sunlight & judging from Nightracer plus review, it's light seems more white

@Chetas Das : You are a RTR owner, dont even think that there will be zero vibes
Yes the vibes can be less if you use probiker, but then again it will make you think that the vibes are less.
Then comes the oil you are using, I personally found AX7 reduced the vibes little bit as compared to TVS Tru4 and Castrol.
With the passage of time the vibes will crop up again, so the best is to keep the engine in its best health.

Well i think its all sets in someone's head after going though this kind of biking forums, ya for sure vibes are there but its's nothing to bother about, the matter is all of getting used to, not to worry about anything as far as vibes is concerned, and regarding tyres i don't think one should change it so soon, every thing has its limit so as the tyres . looking forward to congrats you
cheers!!!!

Guess there is a fairly huge trade off between power and vibrations in the sub 200cc category which we simply have to compromise with. Probiker and Shell AX7 is the way to go I guess. I'll be going for a test ride sometime this week. Will let you lot know how it went. Thanks

Yes there are vibes present, and it kick in right after 4,000 rpm, from 47-48 kp/h for 160 cc and it last very long, and this vibration is genuine you can not do much. Using gloves & other thing wont do much, you will still feel vibration .... Luxury of riding you wont get from Apache, its for restless soul.

If you can live vibration 160 cc Apache is a good option, for adrenaline rush & aggression.

Have ridden Apache for 4 years and taken her to all type of places. The Vibration is the biggest let off in all these 4 years.
Short rides are manageable but long rides on her will simply kill you with all the vibes. And as she ages the level of vibes increases too.
And somebody saying "he likes vibes on Apache or it stops giving those jitters" is a myth, nobody like to sit on a generator.

But I must say, had most of good young days on her, all the touring and roaming around was done on her only and she never gave away.
If TVS would have somehow controlled the vibes, in my opinion she would have been the best out there for all kind of fun and I would have never looked out for better options.

You know, just like "looks", even "vibs" are subjective. You might get used to, and love the feel of raw power just like I do(I honestly miss it while riding my relatively smooth CBR). If the vibs bothered you from the TD itself, I would advice, not to buy it. During my TD, I was so engrossed with the power delivery, that I didnt thought of the vibs even a bit. So TD all your options 2-3 times, then decide.

Good...Did you buy from Vicky online webpage
Actually I searched and to deliver in bangalore its mentioning 150 extra.
Already shelling out 595/- and extra 150 was kind of too much for me.
Anyway I tried in the shop where @Adarsh_Bk bought it. Its still not available. I called this last weekend also.
Anyway will wait for some more time.

Those numbers can be used by miscreants who do illegal stuffs in their vehicles. They will use those numbers in their vehicles. So when the police tracks them, they get to you rather than to the original owner. Its the same technique used in all bomb blast techniques.

Yup as it was not available in Pune stores or on ebay. In my case, it was 100 extra for shipping & i saw no other option, so i hope the bulb lasts for sometime

RTR is as always doing good for what it is meant for, the only thing is our greedy mind which want to cross the limit & ask for more

Hi ALL,
This is my first post I just bought an Apache RTR 180 ABS few weeks ago love the bike the vibes are no big deal for me even bullet vibes are no issue with me.
I love the way my bike accelerates simply awesome .i just have one problem the bike fishtails/wobbles suddenly when accelerating hard at high speeds It happned to me at 92 kmph and then again at 111 and then again at 119 and yes i know I shouldn't be doing this in run in period just couldn't resist temptation !! already completed 700kms in first week have to give bike for its first service. Note I am a novice rider and applied for learning license with purchase of the bike. yeas all 700k have been ridden after midnight with learning license just couldn't get sleep as my beast keeps hauling for me.

Can anyone shed light on fishtailing issue ? I am thinking of changing rear wheel to r15V2 Rim and fitting zapper FS tyres on both of the tyres .I also want to know where can I get computerised fork alignment done?

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Note I also let My friends ride my bike and check for the problem they said that even with slight uneven surface of the road the fishtail occurs and the bike is taking longer time to become stable again .note but while riding pillion there is no fish tailing as I was the pillion and I weigh 115kg and the rider was 70kg Apache was still pulling 115 (speedo) I didn't expect it to do so frankly. I know the mod will cost around 9-10k but if it will solve the fishtail issue i don't mind spending that much as long as the reduction in acceleration isn't significant
