Finally completed a year with my steed.
A year & 5700km later the bike is running like new. No mechanical problems at all.
Couple of minor problems like chain cover rattling, vibrations in the speedometer console. But all sorted out.
I had put in shell ax7 at 5020 km. Still going good. Very good oil for cruising all day at 80kmph. But the vibrations take a toll on your fingers. They turn numb after an hour of cruising around.
Next oil change scheduled at 7000km.

Back in the forum after a couple months ! A very bad phase for my RTR . The threading on the sparkplug hole got misaligned , rethreaded that and in the process somehow the con-rod had developed some issue. After all this ,last month sadly the engine got seized with the oil disappearing in 1500kms a week after the ISG2G which happened at coorg ,(glad she din go down during the trip) .The oil tube that goes to the ABS unit from the rear brake developed some issue too 😓. Now after all this, am running a new bore ,new con-rod n running in . Bike is running at around 75k+ kms on the ODO .Hope all is well after this ,until my first upgrade .

Recently the gear shifts in my RTR 160 was too tight & false neutrals was so common & on top of that was not able to put in neutral. I tried changing the oil but still in vain. In short it was a pain to ride the bike. I thought my clutch plates are doomed and I will have to shell out a huge amount. But with just 43k in odo I was feeling doubtfull of how the clutch can worn out so fast even with not so insane riding and so decided to wait a couple of weeks before going for the change. Then all of a sudden my clutch cable snapped in the middle of the traffic in Bangalore. Somehow found a mechanic shop nearby, but he didnt have stock of RTR clutch cable. As I had no other option & it was already late night I asked him if there is any other option. He said there is a work-around which he will make it work. He had stock of clutch cable of auto-rickshaw (i guess). They were too lengthy & not direct fit. He separated the iron wire/rod inside the clutch cable & then inserted the same in mine. He cut the extra length & made a knot kind of setup so that it holds there firmly. And to his credit it worked like a charm and all those hard shifts or false neutrals went off.
So folks before you splurge on clutch plates try other options if the symptoms are as mentioned above. It might help you at times and after all you are spending only 140rs for a clutch cable. Anyway just for the peace of mind, I changed the juggad setup with RTR's clutch cable set up later after two weeks of running in that.

would you please tell us how many old was the clutch cable along with total km covered so that we can have some idea about the average life of clutch cable .I once faced broken clutch cable in one of my previous bikes and that was five year old and with 50,000 km that time

At what highest speed I can ride it for extended hours without doing any harm to the engine?

                  How disturbing are the vibrations
in the city rides and on the highway?

                  Please answer ASAP.

If you are thinking of relaxed crusing then look somewhere else buddy like Yamaha fz series or Pulsar AS200. Apache vibrates and doesn't feel relaxed.

It depends on usage bro & also climate. Me being from Bangalore the traffic is to much that you will always be engaged in gear shifts & half clutch which will add to the wear & tear. Also if there is so much humid or rainy condition the wires inside the cable may start catching rust slowly. In my case, as mentioned the ODO reading was 43k & it will be 5 years this coming December 2015.

                      Hello guys,

Hope all are well and fine.
I need a little help regarding heat generated by the bike. My bike is nearing 1000 kms, first service was done at around 336 kms. My bike heats up a lot, say after riding for about 30 mins - 45 mins continuously. I can feel the heat on my legs. I let it cool down for about 10 mins. And then I start riding again. Is it normal for new/less run bikes? I most of the time ride on the highway but I do vary the rpms and change gears according to the rpms. But I occasionally rev my bike beyond 4000 rpms to 6000 rpms.

Not Normal., I never faced this kind of issue ever with RTR in 3 years, 54k km of ownership.

Strange! Let some one else ride & take multiple opinion, it might be only you who might feel it hot.

Thanks for replying. Could this be due to lean afr? Because I am getting very good mileage about 50 km/l or may be more.

not sure, check engine oil level too.
