you have to disconnect the connector circled in red. dont worry about where the connector goes to inside the wiring of your bike. and i would encourage not to mess with it either. disconnect the wire of TPS, remove the two screws and the TPS will be in your hands.

I dont quite understand what you mean by "the TPS & TCI are in sync" but yes technically the TPS signal goes to the TCI. This you can confirm in the electrical circuit diagram drawings in the A160 service manual.

After removing the TPS pry the black rubber thing out using a screwdriver. It is quite flexible. Then put a large screwdriver through the hole and pry open the back of TPS on the right side of the rubber in the picture. Careful it is glued, if you apply too much force then it might break then u will have to seal it with cellotape. After that clean it to your hearts content, if you have a multimeter check the wires for continuity and then put it back on the bike.

After which u may enjoy your new bike experience.

Also i forgot to click pictures of the dismantled TPS, if u r successful in opening it post the pics.
Wow Rio, Thank you so much for the quick explanation...shall definetly try this out till the point where i feel i am not screwing up...yes , if i am successful in opening up the TPS shall definetly post the pics......Thank you once again
What about the other end of the wire whose one end goes to the fuel knob? & lastly Rio, where in Mumbai do you stay?

The metal wire coming from the throttle grip is divided into two, one goes to the carb and the other to the TPS.

My rtr's RPM increases when the bike is suddenly stopped after a run. This happens b/w 2k and 3k rpms ONLY.
I had checked almost everything: Choke Cable, Cleaned the Carb, Cleaned my air filter and all. But still the isssue remains
ODO is sm 9500kms now. Its a RTR180.

PS: I tried finding it out from a desi workshop guy. First thing he did ws clean the carb and air filter. This pblm ws nt there for two days after tht. Now it again started He had told me that there might be a problem with the Piston Head if the problem persists. And i doubt if it has anything to do with water falling on the air filter during washing :|

if you mean to say that after stopping the bike the rpm stays around 2k-3k and then reduces slowly to around 1k then it is a rich mixture problem. try by turning the afr screw 2 full turns clockwise.

if this solves the problem then get your bike tuned by a good mechanic

no bro. Nt the tuning problem. I mean THE NEEDLE MOVES UP SUDDENLY FROM 2k to 3k...and it stays there...UNTIL I TWIST THE THROTTLE. If i do so, then it gets back to normal idle rpm for hot engine [around 1.8k for mine]

normal idle rpm should be around 1.5k. what you describe used to happen with my bike when the tuning was set on a cold engine.

You need to spend about 3k for that digi console, think twice.
RTR 180 classic console(blue backlit) also can be used. Go for it if you like the blue display.

i like the blue back lit but what i don't like about it is that the fuel gauge markings they are too simple while in RTR160 its curvy so looks good as m a designing person so loves that kinda curves and notches and about the back lit it can be changed in my current console too but i want that features which i mentioned

Are you sure RTR 160 can be revved till 11-11.5k?
If yes on which gear?
I have tried this many a times in my hyperedge & the rev limitter kicks in at 5th gear & I couldn't pass 9k rpm, while in other gears it went till 10.5k rpm (maybe it can go more but not sure haven't tried that as I shifted the gear to 5th at that point).
At what rpm in RTR 160 will the rev limitter kick in?
